"Life belongs to the living, and he who lives must be prepared for changes."-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Okay, let me tell you all a little about my lovely hometown. It is a very small, slow paced, laid back, and conservative town with only one stoplight...in which nothing much has really changed over the last 10 years...with the exception of maybe a Subway or a pizza place. Well, rumors have been swirling that a change will soon be coming that would effect me directly. It has been rumored that a subdivision will be built just across the road from my humble abode, and normally, that'd be pretty cool, but it isn't with me. You see, if this were to actually take place, then that would mean that traffic flow on this road would increase...as would the amount of wrecks(you'd be surprised at how many already happen here), and there would be an enforced speed limit...which blows, because I fly down this road. Personally, I really can't see anything coming out of it...well, maybe hot chicks moving in, but that's about it...and Glenn has been telling me that my mother and I should go vote against it, but I know that my mom doesn't want it to happen, and yet, she won't do anything to try and help stop it. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only living in this area that is against it, but if I'm wrong about that, then my voice wouldn't be heard one bit if I were to vote against it. I haven't heard anything more about it lately, but I can only hope that the plans have been haulted before they've started.
Well, I'm hoping that my car will have a brand new radiator and thermostat in it by the beginning of next week so that I can go on my own to seek employment. We have the thermostat, but my dad is buying a brand new radiator for $134, and I'm understandably going to have to pay it back, but it'll be worth it just to be able to drive my own vehicle again. Now, quite obviously, the first place I'm going is Convergys, and then I'm gonna check out Fresh Beginnings...where my friends Kelly and Jennifer work, and then I'm going to look around Hahira. I'm really hoping for Convergys, but I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Last night I watched Jarhead with Lance, Tony, and James, and I must say that the movie lived up to the hype...as I thought it would. This movie is really only one of a few that I want to see this year, because Hollywood has really forgotten how to make GOOD movies in the last few years. Here are the others that have caught my attention in 2006: Inside Man, Superman Returns, and The Da Vinci Code. I'm looking particularly forward to the Superman movie being that I've been a fan since I was a young kid. Anyways, if you haven't seen Jarhead yet, then I suggest you do, because it's worth it, but don't take my word for it.
Adrianne has met a guy from Bainbridge that she really seems to like, and that's cool, because she'll be coming up here every now and then...which will enable her to stop in and visit whenever she wants to. It's not enough that we talk on the phone as often as we do, but she just recently got on myspace, and she added me today, so we'll be able to talk on there at times too. By the way, for those of you on here that are on my myspace, take a look at my new layout if you haven't yet.
Man, I can't wait until Saturday, because me, Lance, Donnie, Sarah(Donnies g/f), and Bobby are traveling to Orlando to take in a Atlanta Braves/Cleveland Indians spring training game...which will be broadcasted on FSN South, by the way. The game will be awesome, but it'll also be fun to get away from Lowndes County for a day. If I hadn't have had to save my money, then I would've gone to Atlanta last weekend, but my radiator is a priority. At any rate, I'm looking very forward to it.
Speaking of the Atlanta Braves and MLB, the first ever World Baseball Classic just got over with, and in a surprising twist, Japan defeated Cuba to win it. Along with a lot of others, I was confident that team USA would win it, but embarassingly enough, we got put out by team Mexico. Well, now that it's over, the focus is back on spring training and the forthcoming season, and it's gonna be a fun one, because once again everyone in the world are picking against the Braves. You'd think they'd learn by now, but hey, that's what makes it fun. The Braves have looked really good despite a rocky spring, but spring training doesn't count, so it doesn't matter. Atlantas new shortstop, Edgar Renteria, has looked like he belongs and the pitching staff is solid. There have been rumors flying that the Braves are about trade starting pitcher John Thomson for some arms in the bullpen, and I welcome that, because Atlanta does need improvement in that area. Anyways, the 2006 season is almost here, and I look highly forward to it. Atlanta Braves: 2006 World Champions!!!
Well, that'll do it. Take care.
