"It's cheaper than the gay bar."-James R. Milicevic, Esq. on 1/1/05
Okay, here's the deal, folks. I tried three times before the New Year to make this update, but my computer completely refused to allow it, so that explains my tardiness. For my faithful readers, this is my first attempt at a year in review entry, so just hang with me. Here's how it works: I'll post my fondest and not so fondest memories of 2005 month by month. Here we go...
January: Well, we certainly started 2005 with a bang...well, okay, a thud, but it was a fun night to ring in 2005, and we learned on that night that IHOP was certainly cheaper than the gay bar.
February: I've gotta say that this month was one of the weirdest that I'd ever lived, because sometime in February I found out that my brothers girlfriend, Heather had developed feelings for me. Well, nothing ever happened further, because I told her that it wan't going to, and to this day my brother knows nothing of it.
March: In unfortunate news, a friend from high school that I knew through Lance, Matt Jones passed away in a motorcycle accident in Valdosta. Also in March, I had what I'd call a fling with a girl by the name of Jennifer Beckstrom from Ray City, Ga. We made out a few times, but other than that, nothing happened, and I'm glad of it too.
April: Well, the 2005 MLB season officially got underway, and in his first start back in the rotation since 1999, Braves starter, John Smoltz lasted only 1 2/3 innings in a 9-0 loss to the Florida Marlins on Opening Day. Also in April, Lance, Tony, and I determined that this was, in fact, Ray City!!
May: During May, Tony and I began the trend of roadtrips to Tifton...for Playboys. We also experienced the attack of the excessively redneck and discovered that Nashville, Ga. has a Rite Aid(it's a drug store) in May. I also got to see Adrianne for the first time in forever in May!! The Kliq also grew as Tony "T-Dilly" Dillion joined officially by...well, defacating on LHS' football program.
June: I re-connected with an old friend in Kari Tucker in June, and that continues to this day. The summer started really experiencing the Kliq in full force as James was down from Georgia Tech, and in true Kliq fashion, we raised hell.
July: I got back in touch with Sara Muterspaugh after a lengthy silence, and we continue to talk today...actually, we've talked tonight. Also, Tony and I could've been seriously hurt or worse when an idiot in a white van attempted to change lanes without looking...yeah, not much happened in July...well, except that the Kliq continued to rip ass on Lowndes(and surrounding) counties.
August: James, Lance, Tony, and I ventured to the beach in August and got burnt. Lance and I also excitedly found out that a Back To The Future documentary would be coming out in the near future. I celebrated 21 years of existance and Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans.
September: On the 24th of this month, James, Lance, and I sat in Turner Field and saw the Atlanta Braves defeat the Florida Marlins by a score of 6-1, and Andruw Jones hit his 301st career homerun in that game!!
October: In October, Donnie, Lance, and I attempted unsuccessfully to meet Robert Englund, star of the A Nightmare On Elm Street films. Unfortunately, the Braves exited the first round of the MLB playoffs, but in good news, the Yankees were knocked out of the first round too. Also, the Chicago White Sox finally won the World Series after 88 years.
November: During this month, the wrestling world experienced a tragic loss when Eddie Guerrero unexpectedly passed away. You're still missed, Eddie.
December: This was undoubtedly the best month of 2005, because after 17 long years, I visited with my two sisters, and I've seen them several times since then, and in May of 2006, we're going to be throwing a bash on St. Simons Island to celebrate their graduation from high school. The Braves traded for all-star shortstop, Edgar Renteria after losing Rafael Furcal to the Dodgers via free agency. Also, I met L.A. Dodgers outfielder and Hahira citizen, J.D. Drew when I was down looking at his house, and I was able to help him move some of his things in. Despite what you may have heard, he's a cool guy. We celebrated Christmas and had a kick ass New Years!!
Well, all in all, 2005 was a pretty good year. It was filled with new experiences, new and old friends, and getting back in touch with family members. The year produced one of the most exciting MLB seasons in recent memories. Yeah, 2005 kicked ass, but now we've gotta see if 2006 can top it, and so far, it's been fun, but there's a ways to go, and I'll be here writing about it, so stay tuned. Later on.
