ok wow. today was quite an event. yesterday was not. yesterday i managed to spend a great deal of time holed up in my room debating on what exactly i was going to read. not that it was that big of a deal. sometimes though i just wish i was capable of reading a wee bit faster seeing as how i read at a dreadful rate. however i chose a good entertaining book that will satisfy me for the time being.
onto today. well waking up i only had two things planned. hang out with anna at two and at some point sit down and write two letters. well i rolled around bed until noon and then went to the tavern with jon to get some food. i have a handy gift certificate so with half off meals i've been buying people food. only at the tavern though, 'cause it's essentially free. then afterwards i headed to the park across to read and kill some time because i still had to wait around for a bit to meet up with anna. at two it was on to ault park and at two thirty anna and i were caught in the rain. well less caught and more thought it was kinda spiffy that it was raining. anna and i had a good talk/walk in the rain and it was still pouring down when we made it to the pavilion. a bunch of kids were huddled underneath seeking shelter from the monsoon that was currently raging. anna and i both had our backpacks which we left there with the kids hoping that maybe our stuff hadn't been destroyed by the water. (i checked my bag later to find everything alright except for the two letters that i had. sorry liz but you can barely read your letter now.) i thought i'd go up on top of the pavilion but at that same moment there was a flash of light followed by thunder, not even a second apart. so with the lightning right above we stayed on the ground. i had so much fun walking around in the puddles of water, feeling my clothes become soaked through and through, and wiggling my toes in the water. it's been a long time since i've been outside to enjoy a thunderstorm and that's mostly because i avoid the rain when i'm alone.
jon boy showed up and after a bit of joking we made our way to his house to get some towels and then were off to the tavern. again. this time however we met sara and had dessert. opera cream to be exact. mmm wonderful chocolaty goodness. oh by the way. just in case anyone was wondering, and i know everyone is, jon's mom has thunder thighs.
hanging out at jon's later i was given the chance to do some writing because anna had left and jon and sara were asleep. another thing that i haven't done much. write. it felt really good because it's the sort of writing that i wouldn't let anyone else in the world read. the kind of writing i know i would get in trouble for and the kind of writing that tomorrow morning i should make a point of deleting the file.
jkd with sara. burn muscles burn. i'm going to have to work on conditioning my mind so that i become a bit more masochistic and therefore don't mind working out. because it's only when you do it infrequently do you really appreciate the payoff of feeling completely drained. i love it when my muscles begin to protest movement. tonight wasn't that good but it reminded me of why i like physical exertion.
people are weird. er, or more accurately i should say i feel weird. this refers to my attitude towards people and socializing. a rather boring subject and one i'll leave for personal conversation.
