I'm not even going to talk about the sums of money I've been pouring into the Zoe situation, but it's all worth it, because as best the doctor running the ultrasound could determine, Zoe does not have pancreatitis. She does have idiopathic gastrointestinal inflammation, and in fact, one of the worst that the doctor has seen. The speculation is that it's a really nasty virus of some kind causing all this, and that with supportive care (I'm still to give her the appetite stimulant, feed her whatever she wants, and keep an eye on her weight), she should be back to her old self in no time.
I have a follow up in a few weeks, but I have already noticed a huge difference in her behavior. She's using the scratching post, wanting to eat, wanting attention.
Hurrah!
