Thanks! You'd adore the book he got me, if you don't already own it -- Introduction to Manuscript Studies, by Raymond Clemens & Timothy Graham, which includes such delicious chapters as "Encounters with Damaged Manuscripts". I will probably be posting quotes and comments on LJ once I've read bits of it, it looks fascinating.
