So the school division called me back on Wednesday with a job offer! Huzzah! I'll be starting on the 18th, tentatively. If someone at the current company can come up with a good reason for me to stay the extra 2 weeks my boss requested, then I won't start until November. But really, it'd have to be a helluva reason. I like to think highly of myself but I'm not *that* indispensable.
My knee has been freaking out the last couple of weeks. It was doing so well for so long then this pain resurfaced. I saw a doctor about it and he blamed probable scar tissue behind the knee cap coupled with too much activity. Thing is though, before starting work, I was stretching and exercising my leg for nearly 2 hours a day, sometimes twice a day. During that time, it felt great. Rarely was it painful. Actual measurable progress was being made in strength and range of motion. Since starting work, I've definitely slacked on the structured exercises though the average level of activity has gone up (more walking, more stairs). Maybe I just need to get back into the habit of doing my stretches for at least an hour a day. Time to scrounge for more time I guess.
The election campaign has been progressing slowly, quietly. Judy Whatshername (if I can't pronounce it, I can't spell it) has come out with a few more interesting bullet points for her platform, though that's all they are at this point. If she can come out with some *detail* and *strategy*, she might be able to win my vote. If it comes right down to it though and she looks then the way she looks now, I'm just going to spoil my mayoral ballot. At least my city council candidates aren't such lame ducks.
