Not the third thing

We got the house! Unfortunately we couldn't talk the rent down at all, but we're going to make it work, because it's so cool! I don't look forward to moving per se, but I really look forward to being comfortably set up in the new place. As I might have mentioned before, the new place has a new kitchen (xeyr and I almost wept with joy), and we're allowed to put things on the walls (removable things), and the owner actually seems interested in making the place as good to live in as possible - what a novel concept! And the place is clean! Our current place hadn't been leased for a while before we moved in, and it showed. It's going to be so nice living in a big place, with natural light and proper insulation - won't be so hard to keep cool in summer, and warm in winter. (I realise all this makes our current place sound kind of crappy, but it's not - it's big and has some gorgeous features, but it's not in the best condition.)

There are three spacious bedrooms - two will be used as bedrooms, and one will be the WoW room* study. While I'll probably keep my bookcases either in our bedroom, or in the living room (not likely, as it's not as huge as our current living room), it'll be so nice having a study that's not small and dark and that I'll actually feel like using.

Meh. I'm tired of feeling useless and crappy. There are some things right now that I definitely can't change - I can only try to offer my support. And then there are some situations where I might be able to help, so I'll try. Things can't stay like this much longer, surely - periods of high stress usually don't last that long (right?). The new place is a couple of streets away from the park - when we move, I plan to start walking in the morning or evening - more for mental, than physical health (although they're obviously connected). Also, I'm seeing this move as a chance to get rid of stuff we don't use - for me, getting rid of physical clutter helps with mental clutter.

It looks like we'll have to move as soon as next weekend - the 5th and 6th of August - which is also the weekend of fire_fly's party - but I'm sure we'll still manage too turn up, even if our costumes will be kind of lame (haven't picked one yet, but I probably won't have time for many feats of artistry between now and then).

I'm a traitor - I joined a new guild. It's one of the biggest Aussie guilds on Spiney, and they seem like a cool bunch. xeyr joined them a while ago, and they were recruiting droods and locks, so I decided to join. As far as raids and instances go, I'm still a lowbie - level 52 - but I'm getting there. Last night we attempted a raid on...Darnassus. It was fun, even though we didn't manage to take out the boss. Getting into Darnassus (which I know quite well because of my nelf alt on another server) was fun - I had to get a guildie to help me into the boat at Auberdine, and then, once in, I summoned the other lock and then we summoned everyone else who wasn't already there. Then we moved in, and started killing sentinels and ents (the small kind, that inflicts all sorts of nasty nature damage - not the HUGE ones near the main entrance). I wonder if anyone took screen caps of our raid group: about 30 Hordies (many of which were Tauren) precariously perched on a dainty Darnassus roof... Also? I got into Alterac Valley for the first time yesterday - 300 kills, baby! (who says WoW can't help you work out aggression?)

home, wow
