When I was 14 I gave up in God
As cliché patriotic as it sounds
When the twin towers fell
And my cousin didn’t come home
Had a hard time going back to church
Now I’m watching myself growing old
Watching a backwards world try to roam
Into the future, but it’s crippled and it’s weak in the mind
have to help it get there
