Sokka has found a Car.
There are a lot of cars around, if you start walking down the street. Mostly abandoned - because most of them actually don't work. But, you know, with some TLC, they could really be something special and it would be useful to have a good, reliable car around.
This is what Sokka is telling himself as he ties the steering wheel steady, puts the gear in neutral, and... pushes the jeep down the road and back to the farmhouse.
...if he tells himself with curses, it's all a part of some genius plan. Rly.
