Shay is less concerned about the zombie part and more about the guitar playing.

He has his own guitar. He's teleporting across the city, close to the herds, playing it and singing (he's quite good.)

He hasn't noticed the TARDIS yet, but surely he will, soon.

Hopefully he will, because the Doctor just fell out of the TARDIS.

It also attracts the attention of a Shay, who deems it a better idea to prod the Doctor with his guitar than to actually help her.

And she flails. "What was that for?!"

She has not noticed the advancing zombies yet. Woe.

Shay considers this, for quite a while.
"Not really any time to explain." Sagely. "Zombies."

[eleventh_doctor]

"...What?" she flails.

"OOOOOOOO," the zombies say.

"Right," she says, and sensibly leaves the safety of the TARDIS to dash off in the direction of the nearest building.

Shay follows, at a gentle stroll.

He keeps up by way of teleporting next to her every so often.

It works out all right all around, then, because every so often the zombies pause to pick up their guitars and strum a few chords.

If she listens very closely, she can almost hear a lovely baritone belt out, "ALL WE WANT TO DO IS EAT YOUR BRAINS!"

Sadly, his fingers are sliced off by the guitar strings and his fellows have to help him stick them back on.

"They're very good singers." Shay notes, mildly.

"Where is this?!"

"I wonder," Shay goes on, without appearing to notice what the Doctor is saying. "If they can play drums."

Thoughtfully, "Maybe. I don't see why not."

Flail.

"WHat!?"

"Hey! They could be backing singers! I wonder where I can find a supply of brains for them."

"Do you think they need fresh brains?"
