The car is rattling significantly more than it did when they left, although that might just be due to the driver change: it's the younger Sokka behind the wheel. Not that he's a bad driver, just inexperienced.
Once they're both out of the car, the younger Sokka shrug-waves an awkward 'well, bye for now, I guess?' to the older one, and promptly abandons him for finding Claire and Toph and Penance. ... mostly Claire. She'll be in the farmhouse somewhere, right?
... predictably, it doesn't take too long for the younger, gawkier Sokka to become distracted by the kitchen, where he is soon to be found munching cupcakes and every so often looking up hopefully in case Claire's coming in.
