When Peter heard the report on the TV news, he could not believe his ears. The anchor on CNN was talking about a man in Texas who had literally exploded and destroyed a family’s suburban home. For weeks, Peter had had visions of a man exploding and causing destruction, but in his visions it was always in New York and it was always…him. He couldn’t ( Read more... )

Walking off one of those main streets and onto a more rural road is a very tall woman. More a girl, really, looking to be in her late teens. Diana, after all, is only a thousand years old.

Peter is given a look of scrutiny as she passes by. Chances are she saw him land. People who can fly are always of interest to her.

Peter walked towards the young-looking girl giving him an intense look, and smiled at her to try and see if he could get some answers from her about his strange surroundings.

OOC: I'm so sorry and embarassed about the tag I had to delete. I've never been in a roleplay before and my friend just pointed out "godmodding". It won't happen again!

Diana looks up at the sky and then back at Peter, before taking a few steps toward him. He may notice at this point that she's quite tall.

"Lost?"

Peter stammers and looks up at her, into her face. He instantly knows that she's good, that she'll help him.

"Yes- I, I came from New York to Texas but the Texas wasn't normal Texas. Something happened to me on the way, and I ended up here with all this decay".

He knew she had seen him fly, but he didn't think he could go there just yet.

Diana gets more or less lost after "yes" but that's enough. He doesn't belong here, just like she doesn't, and even thoughhe's a man which she's still not used to, she knows she should help him.

Still maintaining what she considers a safe distance, she gestures to herself. "Diana."

He held out his hand to her, even though she was standing a ways away from him. "Peter Petrelli" he said. "I'm a nurse in New York, well I was, until..."

He looked at her face, realizing that she was confused. He didn't finish that whole story. Instead he said "It's nice to meet you, even if it is under these odd circumstances".

"Peter Petrelli," she repeats, giving his hand a glance but making no move to take it.

Then she looks over her shoulder and back to him again. "Shelter is there. We will fly."

He looks at her slightly nervously, and speaks to her slowly.
"If you mean to fly with me, I'm going to have to lift you up and put you on my shoulders". He mimes this action, not sure how much of what he's saying she'll actually take away.
"Is that OK with you?"

Diana raises an eyebrow and it's entirely possible there is the slightest hint of a smile starting to show.

And then she pushes up with her feet, coming to a hovering stop a few feet above the ground. This would be her way of saying she's got it covered, Peter.

He opens his eyes a bit wider, and grins at her. Even in this weird version of reality he has stumbled into, he seems to forge connections with extraordinary people.

"I'll follow behind you...lead the way" he says as he too touches off from the ground.

So far, most of the people here Diana has met have been able to fly, in one form or another, but Peter is the first to not have wings. Just like she doesn't. It's perplexing to say the least, but she doesn't have the adequate vocabulary to ask him about it.

Instead, she just leads him at a fairly leisurely pace toward the house where it appears a few people have taken up residence. The house itself in in good condition, but there is a pile of rubble behind it in the yard.

There is also a very large cargo ship half in the ground behind the house as well.

Diana alights just off to the side of things and waits for Peter to land as well. "Shelter."

Peter lands smoothly next to Diana, curious to ask her so many questions, but now aware that she will not be able to understand. He thanks her for leading him to this place, and motions towards the house, indicating his desire to go inside and continue his search for information and answers.

She looks toward the house and then gives Peter a small smile.

"Food, people. Safe." And then she puts a hand on her chest. "I keep safe."

Peter moves towards her, but maintains a distance that he thinks will keep her comfortable. "Thank you" he says. He is thinking that she doesn't know that he can heal for virtually any injury almost instantly, but in this strange place he doesn't know what kinds of things he might come across, so a small smile creeps across his face as he thinks of how it feels to know that someone is looking out for him.

"Other people who can....fly?" he asks, clearly intrigued.

"Others fly?" Diana asks and then nods slowly. "Lucy," she frowns slightly, "Medusa. With wings."

She then tilts her head at Peter. "No wings. How?"

"I-I don't really know. I just, do what other people can do, and my brother can fly. Many people different where I come from".

Peter quickened his pace a bit, eager to talk to more people who could fly who could maybe understand him a bit better. Then he stopped in his tracks for a moment

"Did you say...Medusa?"
