Medusa is flying.
This is not new - she has wings, and she knows how to use them, and she loves flying. So do her sisters, actually, which is how this thing whole started. Triplets are what triplets are, and Euryale had pinched Medusa, so Medusa had hit back and Stheno had growled so Medusa stole her comb and flew off laughing and -
And that's why when the ground is suddenly a lot closer than it was, and it's silent no sea, where's the sea, it was there I'm flying over it, Medusa has a comb in her hand.
It's a comb that gets dropped, shortly before the young Gorgon herself ends up tumbling over the ground. She had enough warning to draw her wings back so that she didn't break them, but still.
Over and over and over, with flashes of gold from her feathers and brown from her limbs (because you try clambering over rocks in a full-length chiton), until she manages to stop herself. Give her a moment, and she'll be up. At the moment, she's just going to stay here and gasp for breath.
