Kate had been missing her cello at times back home, and that strange room in Hogwarts lead her to a supply of instruments one day as she had reminisced about them. Some strange, but one was familiar. Kate smiled, and gave a pat to the soft swell of her stomach before she picked up the cello. Starting to show a little but she can still play for now ( Read more... )

"I didn't know you were a musician," Garo remarks, mildly, as he approaches.

He's changed, lately - It's subtle, but there's something definitely different. Nothing really tangible, more like the smell of silvery-blue moonlight, the whisperings of a forest, the cold tingle in the air before a heavy fog sets in.

It's one of those things that's noticeable, but difficult to place.

She glanced up as she kept playing, the notes drawing softer so she could carry on conversation.

"I am. Studied the cello for years now. Been missing it. How are you?"

"As well as ever. Been dealing with the various forms of plantlife still hanging around. There were one or two incursions of Sith, too - I think some of them have been brought into that there queen's service."

She tensed at that, and there was a discordant note hit on the strings.

"I haven't seen any Sith on patrols, just some of the plantlife. Though wouldn't that mean the Sith are on the wrong coast?"

"I dunno. Either they travel fast, or McQueen does. They haven't gone far into the city, at all, before. Not an invasion force, just scouts and spies."

She frowned more, and her hand reflexively went to her stomach.

"Have to keep an eye on them then. The less intel to take back the better. Shame the triffids can't solve the problem for us."

"Don't really want to say this, but we may be at war. Possibly. It's hard to say. Does trying to devour the city with a giant magical plant count as a declaration of war?"

"Wouldn't be the first time the city's been under attack... but if it was an deliberate attack... then yes."

She sighed, and set down her bow.

"Just came from a war a year ago. Didn't want to have to be there again."

"We have a city, a castle, and a way out to somewhere far away if need be. Defensively, we're in a good place round about now, and I'll try to develop a defensive grid for the city as soon as possible, and a way of getting to the Cooper farm.

She nodded, "There's fliers, might still be some planes in Kansas. They should be alerted too. It also means that we can't let them know about Sherwood." Will had shown her the caves. It protected Robin and his men before, it can still protect others now if need be.

"I didn't mean that. I mean we'll need to guard it. Have to talk to the others here, I can do that."
