Posted at various spots in the subway tunnels, on sheets of looseleaf:

We have contact with people from the outside world. They can help us get this place safer and livable. I'm setting up a meeting so we can get it done.

A time and place are given, and it's signed, Jessica.

DMG-A reads the note and immediately goes looking for Jessica and an explanation.

Shouldn't take long, right?

Nope! Jessica is not very fast and only leaves the tunnels when she absolutely needs something.

"Hey."

"Hey. What's up with the note?"

"What it says: People from outside. Girl says she's a superhero, and some friends. She wants to help us get rid of the murderplants."

Then, because this is an amazing detail, "They're from Kansas." There is nothing in Kansas! NOTHING.

"Huh."

Slight shrug.

"And how's she say she'll do that? I mean, she must have driven through or over them to get here, right? She has to know how many there are. It'll be a big job."

"She's got a flying guy. And friends."

She adds, "She's a superhero." It makes as much sense as anything else here.

"And I guess she wants to ask everyone here about how they work. And about exploring that castle thing."

"Oh, the castle."

If she sounds disinterested, it's because she is. DMG-A likes the subway tunnel hideout.

"So that's what the meeting's for, huh? Good to know."

So does Jessica! And she is not interested in exploring any NEW dangerous locations. Particularly alone.

"Yeah. She's pretty on the ball, so I think we can at least trust her to an extent."

"All right."

She's pretty easy about trust these days. Not being on the run from the government will do that.

"Yeah. I'm not too sure about the castle thing, though.

"Hey, you have any idea where the intercom is?"

"Not offhand. Want to go looking?"

Reply

notvitiligo July 22 2008, 14:28:01 UTC
"Sure. Now that we've got power and all, maybe we can use it."

"Sounds good to me. C'mon, let's try over here."

She starts trotting in a likely-looking direction, hands finding their customary place in her pockets.

Jessica follows, silently.

"I haven't been able to get into any of the locked places, so maybe there," she contributes, after some thought.

"What, like here?"

There is a locked door.

Now there is an open door and a smug supersoldier.

It's always kind of freaky watching her do that.

(Even to someone who sees people walking through solid objects all the damn time.)

"Remind me never to get on your bad side." She peers in before entering.

"...I think if I knew more about this stuff, it'd- hm, maybe this thing marked 'intercom,' you think?"

(That was a joke. Sometimes Jessica makes them.)
