She looks like a sidhe knight but not quite so a little bird circles around her twittering at her.

Kate stared at the bird. Weird one for here, not like the typical pigeons or seagulls. And something was off, there's an odd halo or aura.

"What's your problem? And what are you?" She wondered.

The fantail settles on a branch and spreads her tail out to look at Kate with a headtilt.

"All right, fess up, you're not a regular bird are you?"

If a bird could sigh, this one does and flies behind a tree and then a girl of about fourteen comes out,

"Maybe, you a knight?"

[nothawkingbird]

"Nope, before my time. Or maybe, but not called a knight. I don't give allegiance to any king and like hell to any queen either."

[pi_wakawaka]

"Oh, nothing wrong with that just you're all armed like one is all."

Her accent is bit unusual, not quite from this part of the world.

Kate shrugged, "Well, it's been some centuries since there were knights where I come from. Used to live in a city very like this, only more people, less monsters. Except on really bad days. That's usually once a month."

[pi_wakawaka]

"Just have to know how to see 'em is all. Taniwha are good at hiding same as the knights, just have to know how to look different is all."

Tiwa headtilts at Kate again and offers a muffin from her rather amazing pockets.

"What's taniwha? and what's with that look?"
She considered the muffin, and then politely said, "No, thank you."

Juuuust in case. She's not falling for that again.

"Its safe, not trying to trick you or anything. Cross my heart and hope to die, my Mum made it and she's the best baker in Kelburn. Taniwha are guardians and protectors, also big, scary monsters if you make 'em mad. I try not to do that or at least have one of my brothers or uncle with me if I do or Carly, she can take on anything and usually does. No one bosses her around."

"...it's not an apple muffin or anything is it? You better not be working with any snow or ice queen. And they sound like the creature I shattered to get my sword."

Tiwa stands up a little straighter, her eyes a bit more birdlike,

"I'm no Unseelie, wouldn't do that."

Her blue eyes glowed back for a moment, "Good. Because I'll make sure you'll regret it."

With a deep breath, Tiwa gives her a good proper bow, the court one,

"I'm Tiwa of Te Whanga-nui-a-Tara and I'm lost here too. I meant no harm to you."

Kate recognized it, and bowed back, calming down some.

"I'm Kate Bishop, also Hawkeye of the Young Avengers. Portal sent me to this world too, but been living elsewhere for nearly a year now."
