In a pair of fitted jeans and bright green top that ties around her neck and her back, Jo is outside working on her motorocycle.

Her hair is up in a mussy knot, a pair of pliers held between her lips, and present she's taping a set of wires.

Jo's got a post here, inside the Ep, where she's down in the cellar using the radio ( Read more... )

Rachel, perhaps in light of wandering around the house in her morphing outfit, has taken to a more modest style of dress today - jeans and a t-shirt. She isn't expecting danger but it's not always about expecting it. Which is why the modest outfit covers the morphing outfit. It doesn't replace it.

She is lying on a towel, on the porch, with a magazine.

Bored out of her skull.

Even if it is a National Geographic.

Jo's of the opinion bikes may damage too easily in a fight now.

But it's not a reason to give up. She tinkers away under the summer sun, stopping to wipe her forehead when she's frustrated or the heat gets to her.

Wiping the excess grease from her hands she looked over, giving a snort at the sight on the porch.

"That as educationally winning as it looks?"

"Maybe?" Rachel makes a face, turning the next page. "I doubt they started the magazine for the information I'm using it for."

"Long as you aren't looking for dates in it," She said while using the cloth to wipe away grease in the bike, too. "They don't ever need to know."

Medusa hadn't been looking for Jo in particular (actually, she'd be hunting for food), but her eyesight is kestrel-good and her meeting with Jo had been...

Memorable.

So the little Gorgon lands on the roof and peers over the edge.

Jo didn't even look up from her work.

Her hands continued to tape a wire, only the small tension in her neck betrayed something.

"You probably aren't safe in the open here."

"I'm on the roof."

Which, to Medusa, explains everything.

"Exactly."

Jo feels that does, too.

She starts wiping off her hands.

Sometime after all her other outside conversations, Jo gathers her trash piles, tools and heads in. She dropped the trash, stowed the tools, and took a quick shower, not bitching when the all grease didn't come off.

She grabbed a sandwich in the kitchen and ended up back in the cellar, playing with the radio. It might have been days since she first reached Innovator, but she's still looking for this female Doctor or Oracle.

One of the high-band radio channels has a simple message on a repeating loop. The voice has clearly been run through a digital distortion system, but the words are crisp and well-enunciated.

"This is Oracle broadcasting on all bands. I have access to transportation as well as current situation information around the globe. If you need assistance of any sort contact me and I'll see what I can do." It's followed with a frequency listing for anyone who might want to actually do as the message says.

"There you are."

That was the sound of a 'ha!' through a mouth of sandwich.

Jo followed the instructions in the message, bare feet tapping on the ground as she waited.

A notice pops up on one of Barbara's screens as her system starts receiving a signal on her designated frequency. She grins as she shifts over to call back.

"You've reached Oracle."
