Maybe she thought to surprise him. Or maybe she was just curious to see who else lived in the Cooper household. Either way, Chloe pulls her Volkswagen Beetle up in front of the house. She checks her reflection quickly in the rear view mirror before smiling and stepping out

"...Chloe?" Clark thought he heard a familiar car. He was just really hoping he was wrong. "What are you doing here?"

This is perhaps not the greeting Chloe is wanting. Sadly, it's the one she gets.

"Came to visit you," she replies with a grin.

And other people, possibly.

"Some greeting, Clark."

She gets a smile back, because he is happy to see her.

"Sorry, I just wasn't expecting you. I mean, it's a pretty long drive. I figured it'd just be easier for me to come see you."

[torch_reporter]

"It's not that bad. I mean, it's not a drive I'd want to do every day, but once in a while is completely okay," she answers, slipping her hand in his. "Anyway, I didn't get much of a tour the last couple of times I was here. I'm curious."

[hero_farmboy]

"You know, it's probably not safe driving out here, even once in a while," Clark replies, trying another tactic. "There isn't much to see, anyway."

[torch_reporter]

"You mean aside from a spaceship and a house full of fr- people with kind of extraordinary abilities?"

She looks at him, very doubtful and even more so amused.

"What are you trying to protect me from, Clark?"

[hero_farmboy]

"Nothing," he says innocently. "Just trying to save you time is all."

Then he stops walking and looks down at her. "...Spaceship? When did we get a spaceship?"

It certainly isn't his. Mostly because he can't find it.

She nods to the ship Dreamer had come from earlier. Chloe doesn't know what else to call it.

"That thing."

Oh," he breathes out, relieved, following her line of sight. "Cargo ship, it's just sort of half buried."

He smiles at her, lowering his voice. "As far as I know, I'm the only alien around here and my ship wasn't anywhere near that big. Isn't. If it's still around somewhere."

[torch_reporter]

"Damn," she replies. "I was kind of hoping for something a little more exciting."

But hey, a missing spaceship's still a possible lead. "Do you have any idea where yours went to?"

Clark half shrugs, half shakes his head.

"We kept it in the storm cellar over there," he nods toward a patch of land a ways out, "but it's not in that one. I guess the me here took it to California when he moved, but that part of the state is, well, it isn't anymore. I couldn't find anything when I went to look.

He frowns. "Probably in the ocean somewhere. I should go look again."

"You should," Chloe encourages. "I could see if they guys have heard anything about any spaceships too, if you want."

[hero_farmboy]

He nods hesitantly. "Yeah, can't hurt. I really do kind of need it. Or part of it, anyway."

[torch_reporter]

"It's gotta be here somewhere." She smiles at him softly, placing a hand on his forearm. "We'll totally find it."

[hero_farmboy]

He smiles down at her hand and then leans down to give her a quick kiss. "I hope so. I think if you and I put our mids to it, we could find just about anything."

[torch_reporter]

Chloe beams at the kiss. "I like that assessment. A lot."
