Together Forever
By Shattered Tenshi
The moment Kurosaki arrived at his own apartment's door, he could tell something was different. He hesitated for a second before taking his key and opening the door. He blinked. Did he walk into the wrong apartment? He swore his apartment was not that neat when he left it this morning. Every dish and cup that was lying in the sink was gone and the clothes he left hanging around were put away as well. What on earth happened?
Suddenly, the door to his bathroom opened and out walked someone he would never have expected to see in his apartment.
"Ah, welcome home, Kurosaki."
Kurosaki only blinked, looking at the brunette who was drying his hair while pouring himself a cup of water. As if it was an every day thing to randomly show up at the apartment of the person who put you in jail and act like it’s your home.
The brunette tilted his head. "What's wrong?"
"Sa...Satoshi...what are you doing here?" Wearing my clothes too, he added in his head.
"You don't welcome me?" Satoshi asked with a slight pout. "Your apartment really is quite messy. I helped you clean some things up. You shouldn't leave unwashed dishes out for too long. Some of them had stains that took to me a while to get out. Oh, and I washed those clothes you had lying out. Along with mine. I hope you don't mind. I just took out the pants and shirt from your closest. They're a bit too big for me though." He pulled on the pants, emphasizing his point. Looking at Kurosaki with a smile, he asked, "So...can I stay here, Kurosaki? I don't have anywhere else to go."
Noticing the pot that was cooking on the stove, Kurosaki thought Satoshi has already totally made his apartment his own home. No matter what he said, Satoshi probably wouldn't leave anyways.
So, he only nodded his head in response.
"Welcome back."
Kurosaki paused at the doorway. It was still weird to find someone waiting for him when he came home.
"I'm home," he said.
Satoshi shuffled around the kitchen. "Go take a bath. Dinner is nearly ready."
He didn't answer the brunette and just dropped down his jacket and wallet before walking into the bathroom. Just like for the past week, a change of clothes was already ready for him as well as a towel.
Kurosaki honestly didn't know what to make of Satoshi's actions. He thought Satoshi would hate him and never want to see him again. Yet, here was Satoshi taking care of practically everything for him, acting as if nothing has happened between.
The question, "Doesn't Satoshi want revenge?" just won't stop running through his mind.
Kurosaki frowned at the dishes of food before him. "Satoshi...why is there only one plate of meat?"
He looked up from his bowl of rice. "Too much meat isn't good for you. You already got to pick what we eat for the past week, so I'm going to choose from now on." Picking up a piece of tofu with his chopsticks, he dropped in it Kurosaki’s bowl. "You need to learn how to balance your diet. All meat and instant noodles is going to kill you."
Raising an eyebrow, Kurosaki replied, "What's wrong with meat?"
Satoshi rolled his eyes. "I didn't say meat isn't good...you just eat too much...so you need some vegetables to balance it off." He picked up more vegetables and piled them in the other's bowl. "You dare complain again, I'll never cook for you again."
With that, Kurosaki didn't complain anymore. Satoshi's cooking was just too good.
The vegetables didn't taste that bad anyways.
Something woke Kurosaki from his sleep. There were sounds of a pen scratching and scissors cutting. "Satoshi?"
The futon beside his bed was empty and a desk lamp was lit, shining on to the small table and the brunette whose back was facing him. He noticed Satoshi's body stiffened before turning around with a smile. "Sorry, I woke you up?"
Was it the light, or were Satoshi’s eyes kind of red?
He shook his head. "What are you doing?"
"I...I couldn't go to sleep...so I thought I'd look through some magazines for some part-time jobs. It's kinda boring if I stay at home all day." Then he turned back around. "Go back to sleep, Kurosaki."
Without answering, Kurosaki turned around in his bed, facing the wall. He couldn't ignore the feeling that grew when Satoshi called this apartment his home...at the same time, he couldn't ignore his intuition either, which was telling him, Satoshi was lying.
He was looking for the fake ID he needed when his hand touched something unknown under the bed. He pulled it out and found an envelope he didn't recognize. Turning around, he was about to ask Satoshi, when he remembered the other male had went out to do grocery shopping.
Staring at the envelope, he wondered if he should open it. He knew it was most likely Satoshi's and he shouldn't go through it...but there was this foreboding feeling that was encouraging him to open it.
Kurosaki took a deep breath and dumped out whatever was in the envelope.
They were a bunch of photos. Photos of him. Outside walking in the streets, going into his apartment and doing various other things. What made Kurosaki shiver though was how half of those photos have been damaged. There were photos that were roughly tore up, some that Kurosaki was neatly cut out with a pair of scissors, and some where there all sorts of black marks all over them.
He wasn't sure what he should do about this. Confront Satoshi or pretend he never knew about them?
Suddenly, he heard the door unlocking, so he picked up all the photos and dumped them back in the envelope. He managed to stuff in back under the bed just when Satoshi took of his shoes and looked up at him.
"Ne, Kurosaki," he said, "I know it's not winter yet...but let's eat oden tonight." He held up the bag of food and gave him a bright smile.
That's when Kurosaki managed to convince himself to not confront Satoshi and pretend he knew nothing.
That smile. He doesn't want to lose that smile again.
Satoshi was cleaning the dishes when Kurosaki asked him, "Satoshi?"
"Hm?"
"When did you start wearing wristbands?"
The brunette looked down at his hands which were under the running water. There was short pause before he answered. "I just thought it looked good. You don't like them?"
"No...I was just wondering. I've never seen you wear them before."
"Oh, okay."
"What's the occasion?" Kurosaki was pretty surprised to find the little table filled with some elegant looking food and there was even a bottle of wine on it.
Satoshi grinned. "I find a part-time job at a bakery."
Kurosaki took off his jacket and joined him at the table. "It's just a job, Satoshi."
"But I’m happy~" Satoshi's voice went up a few pitches. "Be glad I'm letting you eat more meat today."
A small smile appeared on Kurosaki's face.
"Cheers~"
"...Cheers."
"Ne..." Satoshi placed his glass on the table and sprawled on top of Kurosaki. "Kurosaki, do you love me?" He circled his arms around the other's neck and pulled them closer together.
Kurosaki's eyes widened and tried to pry Satoshi off of him. "Satoshi, you're drunk."
Satoshi pouted and just tightened his grip. "Do you love me?" He started rubbing his body against Kurosaki's and began to breathe into his ear. "Do you love me?"
Trying to ignore the effect Satoshi had on him, he tried standing up and untangling himself from the brunette, only to end up falling on to the bed behind him. Satoshi giggled and whispered into his ear, "Did you know? I loved you. Ever since I met you in high school, I've loved you. I still do, Kurosaki."
"Satoshi, get off of me." Kurosaki couldn't help wonder where all his strength went. He couldn't push Satoshi away at all.
"Ne...do you love me?" He began nibbling on Kurosaki's ear, one hand travelling into and under the other's shirt.
He had to bit back a moan when he felt Satoshi's thigh pressing against his manhood. "Satoshi..."
The brunette giggled drunkenly again. "Do you like this?" His hand travelled further upwards and tweaked a nipple.
"Damn it." Finally, Kurosaki managed to flip the male around and landed on top of him. "Satoshi, what are you trying to do?"
Satoshi gave a smile, his cheeks red from the alcohol. "Ne, Kurosaki, take me?" Wrapping his hand around Kurosaki's neck, he pulled him down into a kiss. At first, Kurosaki couldn't response and was still registering the situation in his mind. Satoshi was nibbling on his bottom lip and he could taste the wine on the brunette.
When he heard Satoshi whimper slightly, something snapped in his mind and he began to kiss back.
"Kurosaki..." Satoshi moaned when Kurosaki began stroking his member slowly. His fingers gripped the bed sheet under him tightly. "Ah..."
As he diverted Satoshi's attention, Kurosaki began searching for something in his bedside drawer. There was an old bottle of lotion he found. Not much left inside, but it should be enough figured Kurosaki. He squeezed some on to his fingers and slowly put one finger into Satoshi without stopping the stroking on the brunette's member.
"Ah!" Satoshi gasped, half in pain and half in surprise. "Ku...Kurosaki..."
Kurosaki gave the other a light kiss. "You said you want me to take you right?"
Satoshi writhed slightly, trying to adjust to the finger inside of him, before nodding with slight pain twisting his face.
"Then trust in me."
Kurosaki swallowed Satoshi's gasp of pain with a kiss when he began entering him. He tried to divert the brunette's attention, with their tongues sliding against each other. "Relax," he said against Satoshi's lips.
When he was finally completely buried in Satoshi, Kurosaki stopped moving, waiting for Satoshi to adjust to the feeling. "Satoshi, how are you feeling?" The brunette’s face became extremely red and shook his head, unwilling to respond. "Can I...?" He tried pulling out a bit and plunging back in.
Satoshi gasped loudly and tightened his grip on Kurosaki's arms. "It hurts..."
Kissing away the tears that fell from Satoshi's eyes, Kurosaki whispered, "It'll be fine Satoshi, trust me..."
He began to thrust in and out a steady pace, causing Satoshi to moan and make incoherent sounds. Adjusting his angle each time, he knew he hit the right spot when Satoshi screamed out his name. "Don't be so loud, Satoshi," he murmured in his ear. "My walls aren't that thick."
Satoshi bit his lip and just looked at Kurosaki with his puppy eyes. “You...you're th...the...one..." He couldn't speak anymore, as Kurosaki just kept on hitting that same spot over and over.
Kurosaki began stroking Satoshi's member once more, in time with his thrusts. He smiled when Satoshi just whimpered, writhed and arched his back. He could feel Satoshi coming soon, but he covered the top of Satoshi's member with his thumb and said, "Satoshi, let's come together."
The brunette only replied with a whimper and wrapped his legs around Kurosaki's waist. He quickened his pace and soon, he felt himself spilling into Satoshi and Satoshi coming all over his hand. He collapsed on top on the brunette and heard his voice beside his ear, "I love you, Kurosaki."
He couldn't reply.
Kurosaki thought there would be awkwardness between them following that. After all, they were only friends, but Satoshi was drunk and he probably was too. Therefore he shouldn't take Satoshi's confession seriously. Maybe that's why Satoshi acted like nothing has happened. Or that's what he thought.
Before they were about to go to bed, Satoshi called out, "Kurosaki..."
"Hm?"
"I wasn't kidding when I said I love you."
He tried to find a trace of laughter on Satoshi's face, but couldn't. Neither could he give a respond. He knew Satoshi was special to him, but was it love? It was dangerous for a swindler to speak about love, because love meant having a weakness and that was unaffordable, especially when he still has to avenge his family.
Without thinking though, Kurosaki just threw open the blanket and patted the space beside him. Satoshi titled his head, staring at his friend for a few seconds as if trying to decipher his action, before giving a small smile and climbed into bed with him.
Kurosaki gathered Satoshi in his arms and knew that this warmth was all that he can offer him for now.
All that was heard in the apartment were moans and whimpers that were escaping from the brunette's mouth. Kurosaki trailed kisses down Satoshi's throat and chest, stopping for a few seconds, nibbling on his Adam's apple. One hand was playing with a nipple, while the other continued to stroke his smooth back. "Kurosaki..." whined Satoshi, not satisfied with the light kisses and touches.
Kurosaki chuckled and murmured, "Be patient, kitten..."
From Satoshi's back, Kurosaki's hand travelled upwards, across his shoulders, and down his arm, before stopping when he felt the brunette's wristband. He was about to take it off when Satoshi quickly pulled away from him with what seemed like fear in his eyes.
"Don't take it off..."
Holding on to Satoshi's hand, Kurosaki wondered if he should take off his wristband. When Satoshi refused to let him touch the wristband, he already had a feeling what it was hiding. With the brunette sleeping deeply in his arms, it was a good chance for him to take it off, but at the same time, he feared the truth.
His fingers trembled as he reached out to touch the edge of the wristband. Taking a deep breath, he peeled off the top part of wristband, and had to bite back a gasp when he saw the numerous scars staring back at him.
Lightly, he ran his fingers over the scars. They were all healed, but they still made Kurosaki's heart fill with sorrow.
He was the one who caused this. He was the one who made Satoshi like this.
Showering light kisses over the scars, he whispered, "I'm sorry."
He never noticed the fresh wound that was covered by the lower part of the wristband.
"You're not going to be doing any swindling on Christmas Eve are you?"
Kurosaki looked up from the making of his most recent fake ID. "No...I don't think so. Why?"
Satoshi gave him a dazzling grin. "Christmas party. Just for the two of us."
The moment Kurosaki woke up, he was showered with kisses. "Satoshi?"
He found bright, warm eyes smiling at him. "Good morning, Kurosaki~ It's Christmas Eve today~ Can we go out on a date together?"
"Date?"
Satoshi nodded excitedly, and started bouncing on his bed on his knees. "Let's go out together. For lunch, then shop a bit, then we can watch the Christmas illuminations. Then we come back for dinner, like I promised. Yes? Yes?"
He found himself smiling at Satoshi's enthusiasm. "Don't you need time to cook?"
"It won't take long~ I got almost everything ready. I just need to spend a bit of time when we get back. It’ll be fine." He grabbed Kurosaki's hand. "So let's go out?"
"...Alright."
"Yes!"
Kurosaki noticed Satoshi was shivering, so he decided to take the initiative and grabbed Satoshi's hand and stuffed it in his pocket.
The brunette turned to look at him in slight shock, but smiled when he noticed the redness on his cheeks. It might be from the cold, but he would like to believe otherwise. He didn't say anything and just turned his head upwards, enjoying the attractive illuminations.
"Ne, can we drop by the bakery I work at?"
"Why?"
Satoshi smiled. "I just need to pick up something I made yesterday."
True to his word, dinner didn't take long for Satoshi to prepare. The small table was filled with delicious looking food and just when Kurosaki thought Satoshi was finished, he went back to the kitchen again. "There's still more?"
Bringing out the box he got from the bakery, Satoshi passed it to Kurosaki. "I didn't get anything for you as present, so this will have to do? I made it myself. Yesterday at work."
Kurosaki raised an eyebrow but took the box and opened it anyways. Inside was a cake decorated into a sled, with toy reindeers leading it. He pointed at the two figures sitting on the cake, "They are..." Instead of the usual boy and girl on other cakes, they were both boys.
"Isn't it obvious? It's you and me."
He had just finished the last bite of the cake when he noticed Satoshi drank a sip of wine and was crawling towards him. "What are you..." Before he could finish his question, Satoshi has already pressed his lips against him and passed him that sip of wine.
"Ne, Kurosaki. I'll give you another Christmas present..."
"Satoshi, what are you doing?" Kurosaki looked at the brunette who was straddling him, running his fingers all over his chest.
Smiling, Satoshi replied, "I told you it's a present...so it has to be different from normal right?" He trailed his fingers further down and grabbed Kurosaki's member in a firm grip before beginning to stroke it slowly.
Kurosaki closed his eyes and grunted when he felt Satoshi speeding up. Then suddenly, warmth enveloped his member. His eyes flew open in surprise, only to bite back a moan when Satoshi's teeth scraped against his member lightly.
"Stop it." His grip on Satoshi's wrist tightened. "You're not prepared properly. It'll hurt..."
"I'm fine..." replied Satoshi as he lowered himself on to Kurosaki's erect member. He gasped loudly when the tip was finally in and had to steady himself for a second before pushing himself downwards more.
Kurosaki couldn't decide if pushing Satoshi down quickly would do him any good or would a hot, passionate kiss be able to distract him from the pain.
Before he could decide though, the brunette has already managed to push himself fully down and Kurosaki could feel his inner walls clenching around his member. Satoshi gave another gasp and collapsed on to Kurosaki.
"Are you okay?" The other asked as he smoothed the matted brown hair.
Satoshi just nodded quietly and continued heaving against Kurosaki's shoulder. After a while, when he finally gotten used to the feeling, he began to move up and down slowly, which felt like sweet torture for Kurosaki. The look on Satoshi's face, the light red shade that covered his entire body wasn't helping at all. He was about to flip them around when the brunette stopped him. "I'm...okay..." he gasped.
Then he began to quicken his pace and all Kurosaki could do was move his hips upwards while fisting Satoshi's member.
Maybe it was because of the position or maybe it was because it's Christmas or maybe it was because of Satoshi's feelings, but Kurosaki felt his mind began to blur and the only thing he could think about was the pleasure Satoshi was giving him.
In the height of his orgasm, Kurosaki could hear himself whispering, "I love you, Satoshi."
Kurosaki lay on his bed, holding Satoshi in his arms. They didn't speak after making love, but he knew Satoshi was still awake. They just enjoyed the silence together, moonlight shining in from the window. Suddenly, he felt something coming up his throat and the taste of iron filled his mouth. Without looking, he knew it was blood. Pain was slowly coursing through his body. He was poisoned, without a doubt, but when? Fear filled his heart when he felt something wet on his chest. "Satoshi?" he asked, shaking the other boy.
The brunette slowly pushed himself up and in the moonlight, Kurosaki could see the blood dribbling down his chin. Pain filled his eyes and Kurosaki wasn't sure if it's from the poison or something else. "I'm sorry..." whispered Satoshi.
"Wh...what do you mean, Satoshi?" He tried sitting up, but he couldn't find the strength to.
Satoshi caressed his cheek and gave him a light kiss before saying, "Listen to me?"
Kurosaki wanted to shake his head, run away and somehow, try to save them both, but his strength was gone and all he could do was look up at Satoshi helplessly.
"I hated you, Kurosaki."
The male's eyes widened, but then again, he knew that deep in his heart all this time. There was no way Satoshi didn't hate him, even for a short time.
"I hated you," repeated Satoshi. "When I first went to jail, I wanted revenge. Not only for my sister, but for myself too. I was thinking about all these different ways I could get revenge from you. Then I narrowed it down to the ways of an akasagi...because after all, I am an akasagi, aren't I?" A tear rolled down from his eye and fell on to Kurosaki's cheek. "Did you know?" He leaned in closer. "I wanted to rape you. Chain you up, make you helpless. ...Are you shocked?"
"Sa...Satoshi..." Kurosaki wanted to say, "No, I'm not shocked. I'll let you do anything to me because I don't want to lose you again and I'm sorry for putting you in jail...but that was because I didn't want you to hate the world later on. I wanted you to be pure, innocent and I'm sorry it didn't work out that way." But he couldn't say it. Either the poison was too strong, or Satoshi had added something to it. He didn't have the strength to do anything at all.
The brunette gave him another peck on the lips and Kurosaki could taste his blood. "But then...when I saw you again...I couldn't do it, Kurosaki." Satoshi began to sob. "I couldn't do it. I love you too much, even though I hated you. I just couldn't harm you. I took my anger out on your photos, on myself. I wanted to feel pain, so I began to cut myself. Then...I gave myself to you. I just sank deeper into the hole and I knew I couldn't get out anymore. Kurosaki, I love you too much. I love you so much..."
He wanted to hug the brunette and kiss his scars, but it wasn't possible.
"I'm sorry I put poison in the cake," Satoshi choked out. "But...the more I see you getting involved in all those swindling cases for your revenge, the more I'm afraid I'm going to lose you. I'm selfish, Kurosaki. I want you for myself. So this is my revenge to you." He placed a kiss on Kurosaki’s forehead. "I really do love you, Kurosaki. I love you to death. So...let's be together forever?"
Kurosaki's eyes were getting heavier by the second, but he could feel Satoshi laying his head in the crook of his shoulder, his arms closing around his waist. Before the darkness took over, he could still hear Satoshi's voice beside his ear, murmuring, "I love you, Kurosaki..."
"Let's be together forever..."
