It's Nyan Nyan Nyan no Hi, aka the release date of the Kamen Teacher movie in theatres!
I wasn't sure if I would manage to do anything, but I somehow ended up with some extra time (at work shhhhh) this past Monday, so I decided to start translating and hope I finish in time. I picked Duet because Potato felt like it was going to be longer and uh, to be honest, I haven't read through Wink Up yet because I haven't gotten a chance. >< There's obviously TV magazines and all that too, but well, idol magazines would ensure that all Johnnys' members in the cast were included, in one big spread.
While Taisuke is main, it includes many other people, so I can count this as an article translated outside of KisuMai, right...? So, 1 out of 5 for my goal this year?
Umu, I did end up getting distracted by anime, so I finished this a bit later than expected, but in time at least!

“We weren’t able to talk at all (on set). Let’s go out for food!”

“I wasn’t able to talk with Abe at all either. Let’s go out for food!”

“Squirt☆ Let’s go out for food!
Fuuma is selling himself with that kind of personality, but actually, he’s quite a squirt (laughs). I had asked him to bring together the students since I thought for communication and to bring out the atmosphere, it was better him to do it as someone playing a student than me. Then, even though he said, “I got it,” he didn’t try to bring them together at all. When I asked him, “What’s wrong?” he said, “I’m shy~” (laughs). That’s why, “Squirt!”
To Kotaki
“I’m looking forward to being able to take our time and talk with you again sometime. Congratulations on your debut! Also, let’s go out for food!”
Since we didn’t have any scenes together, we didn’t have a chance to talk properly, but when we met for the press conference, we were able to take our time and talk. I want to talk with him again.

“I think it was really tough for you, but I’m looking forward to see how you’ve grown next time. Let’s go out for food!”

Cover Members Thumping Crosstalk
This month’s cover which was taken with members who are appearing in “Gekijouban ‘Kamen Teacher’”. Before the photoshoot, Jesse and Kotaki were completely nervous in front of Fujigaya, their senpai of many years. It’s a talk with these three members.
--- What are your impressions after doing the photoshoot for Duet’s cover with the three of you?
Fujigaya: It’s for both looks and inside, but three people who are very smart have gathered! (laughs)
Jesse & Kotaki: Ahahaha!
Fujigaya: The two of you are both tall. I’ve never thought of myself as that small until now. That’s why, somehow...it’s irritating! (laughs)
Jesse & Kotaki: Hahaha!
Jesse: I was very happy to be able to do a photoshoot together with Fujigaya-kun!
Kotaki: I was happy too, but as expected, I was nervous. Even when I placed my hand on Fujigaya-kun’s shoulder during the shoot, it was with the feelings of “Excuse me!”...(laughs).
Fujigaya: I understand that feeling (laughs). I’d get nervous when doing a photoshoot with a senpai as well. That’s why now when I’m in the position of the senpai, I feel like I have to be reliable.
Kotaki: Seriously, ever since I first heard that these three members will have an interview together, I’ve been very nervous. It’s the first time we’ve spoken to each other properly, and I wondered if it’d be okay. Since Fujigaya-kun talked to me kindly though, I was able to relax!
--- Well then, once again, please tell us your impressions of each other.
Jesse: Fujigaya-kun is very sexy and cool.
Kotaki: Also, his clothes in private are cool too! Even when we were filming the movie, I always thought that when we meet in the make-up room in the morning.
Jesse: During filming, I was happy to be able to watch “Araki Gouta” played by Fujigaya-kun up close and be able to act together.
Fujigaya: Jesse’s attitude towards work is serious. Usually, when I’m talking to him, he has the innocent feeling of 17 years old, but when it comes to work, he switches over completely. This time, the gap between his true self and his role is especially big, so it was interesting to watch.
Kotaki: It’s too bad that I didn’t have any scenes to film together with Fujigaya-kun.
Fujigaya: It’s too bad for me too. I wanted to act with you. Or rather, Jesse, why are you looking at my face this whole time? (laughs)
Jesse: Since Fujigaya-kun is talking, I thought I must listen properly!
--- Lastly, tell us about the highlights of “Gekijouban ‘Kamen Teacher’”!
Fujigaya: As I thought, “to connect with the heart, and not power,” which is also the theme of the movie, is very important. After watching, for example, if you recall about a former teacher who is important to you, or think about challenging something, or feel that “meeting with people is a nice thing”, I’d be happy. I too, feel that it’s great that I met with this role called “Araki Gouta”, and it’d be nice if there’s something conveyed to everyone’s hearts through this movie!

≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ Thank you for coming to watch the stage show. When Fujigaya-kun came by the changing rooms, I just happened to have rehearsals, so I’m sorry I couldn’t greet you properly. I heard you have clothes you don’t want, so I definitely would like to receive some. Since you told the members who appeared in Kamen Teacher to come and get them, I’ll go to your home with everyone sometime soon!
≪Amusement on set≫ The fact that I can act is fun. I moulded the character in my own way, practiced at home too, and was able to act while discussing with the director, so everything was fun.
≪Something that was painful≫ Filming happened to be in the summer, so… I sweat a lot easily, so that was tough. I was told I couldn’t wipe my sweat though.
≪Message≫ Please definitely watch the scenes I’m part of. Also, everything is the highlight, so I think time would pass by very quickly when you watch the movie. That’s how interesting the movie is!
Kotaki Nozomu
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ Please take all the members of the student council out for food! Nabe or yakiniku where everyone can eat together would be good. That, or sukiyaki, which I love! [Note: Nabe is where food is all cook in a pot, usually in a flavoured soup base. Yakiniku is the Japanese variation of Korean barbeque. Sukiyaki is considered a type of nabe where the base soup is sweet savory and you usually dip the food from it in raw egg before eating]
≪Amusement on set≫ Teasing Abe-kun. Abe-kun is a really funny person. How he retorts back ridiculously carefully at my stupid jokes is fun, so every time we meet, I’d tease him with the same joke and played like that (laughs).
≪Something that was painful≫ Filming was done midsummer, but since I play the role of the student council president, I had to close the buttons of my collar to the very top. It was super hot! The material of the uniform wasn’t for summer, so it was unnecessarily tiresome… Also, where we had a fight scene, there was a bees’ nest. Everyone was shouting and being loud, to the point of like, “Are we girls!”~ (laughs).
≪Message≫ I think it’d be fine to say that my role is a key person. Anyhow, I think it’s an important role, so please definitely watch it! To be honest though, I don’t appear in it for that much (laughs), so it’d be nice if fans think, “I want to see more!” about my acting.

≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ I was told we should go for yakiniku next time. I’m looking forward to it, but it’s too bad our schedules wouldn’t quite match. Fujigaya-kun is really cool. He fits his role properly and the atmosphere around him is different from usual. He said he’d give me clothes next time. My ideal is being told, “You can come over to my place,” eat together, receive clothes, and if we can talk about work, that would be the best!
≪Amusement on set≫ The fact that I could meet with everyone. I could talk with other co-actors other than Juniors too, so I got various kinds of stimuli and it was fun.
≪Something that was painful≫ It was painful to have to act with a low voice. That’s because my voice is normally high. Also, my expressions. My eyes look too kind, so I try to make them look a bit more intense. I’ve never done acting like this before, so it was tough.
≪Message≫ I definitely want people to watch the fighting scenes. Also, I want them to check out the bonds between teachers and students too. I think you’d understand very well how people wouldn’t be able live without believing in each other. Also, violence would only bring about violence, so everyone, stop violence!
Tsukada Ryouichi
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ Lately, you’re cold. Why is it only me that you didn’t say “Let’s go out for food!” to (tears)? In the past, we often talked about music and borrowed and lent CDs. Next time, let’s recall the past and talk about music.
≪Amusement on set≫ Since I play the role of drama character within the movie, I pretty much have no interactions with other people in the cast, but when I meet people on set every now and then, everyone would welcome me warmly, so that made me happy. After the filming of the movie ended, we had a celebration party, and it was at that time, it’s like, “Nice to meet you” (laughs).
≪Something that was painful≫ Since it was filming in midsummer, it was hot, and very hot, so it was difficult. I kept sweating and really caused trouble for the make-up artist and costume stylist.
≪Message≫ When it’s time for “Kinpatsu-sensei”, just because it doesn’t have anything to do with the story, please don’t go to the toilet! I’m thinking of actually going to the theatre to check things out.
Kyoumoto Taiga
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ I want your clothes. I have a piece I’m aiming to get (from you), but I was told, “You can buy it yourself, right?” (laughs). I don’t wear such great clothes, you know? Even the clothes I’m wearing now is like a shirt that costs about 1000 yen. I want (clothes) too!
≪Amusement on set≫ The fact that I was able to play with M4 members was fun. While we were waiting (to film), the four of us played games.
≪Something that was painful≫ Action, I guess. I like action itself, but I had to show myself as weak. It was the first time I did action while looking weak, so that was hard.
≪Message≫ There are quite of a bit of thrills in the movie, but I think the parts where I appear can make people feel a bit warm-hearted. It’d be nice if that soft atmosphere can be conveyed.
Kikuchi Fuuma
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ The clothes you said, “I’ll give them to you,” I’ll go and get them anytime. Also, as the release is coming up, I think we’d see each other more at work, so please take care of me!
≪Amusement on set≫ It might be something that’s too normal, but to be able to meet with everyone in the cast. Since the atmosphere was really great, being on set itself was fun.
≪Something that was painful≫ None at all. I said this just now, but it’s because it was really fun on set.
≪Message≫ It’s a movie that I was able to film while really having fun, so it’d be nice if even a little bit of the atmosphere on set can be conveyed. Please definitely watch it.
Miyadate Ryouta
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ I was happy to have been able to talk with Fujigaya-kun about work between filming. You gave me a lot of advice, and they’re all things that I didn’t realize myself, so it was really a learning experience. Also, I was often teased by Fujigaya-kun on set. After giving me all that advice about work, it’s like, “So, why are you here (on set)?” (laughs). More like, we’re appearing (in the movie) together!
≪Amusement on set≫ Ever since watching the drama version, I’ve been thinking, “This school looks fun”. So, I was looking forward to be able to go to that school as a student. The school at night was really scary though...
≪Something that was painful≫ It was just hot! Also, I used a baton for the first time in a fighting scene, and it was quite difficult.
≪Message≫ I think it’s a movie where you can understand a teacher’s feelings quite well. If people who saw this movie are students, I’d be happy if they think about what kind of feelings their current homeroom teacher have while interacting with themselves.
Abe Ryouhei
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ Fujigaya-kun, I’m not the battlefield cameraman! [Note: This is referring to the battlefield cameraman Watanabe Youichi which Abe has impersonated at various occasions] No, well, this, every time I meet Fujigaya-kun, he’d say to me, “You’re like the battlefield cameraman”... Also, he’d also say to me, “You appeared in ‘Thermae Romae”, right?”, but I’m not a Roman!
≪Amusement on set≫ Fujigaya-kun created a great atmosphere for us, so I looked forward to being able to go on that filming set.
≪Something that was painful≫ There was a part where I had to act like I was kicked and lose consciousness, and that was difficult. I got advice from the director and somehow managed to do my best to play that part.
≪Message≫ My super studious-like hairstyle can only be seen in this movie! I think it’s quite rare, so please definitely watch it!
Sakuma Daisuke
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ When I heard about how we’re going to appear together in the movie for the first time, KisuMai’s Miyata-kun told me, “Even though Gaya-san looks like that, he’s very kind.” It’s really exactly as he says. You interacted with me kindly so I was very happy!
≪Amusement on set≫ When we were on the move in the bus, it was very fun. M4’s members teasing Abe was super funny. Also, we’d say the lines from the scene we’d be filming that day in an effeminate way and such, so it was fun to be noisy like we were on a school trip.
≪Something that was painful≫ I sweat a lot, so it was tough with the heat. Not to mention our costumes were winter clothes.
≪Message≫ Once you watch this movie, I think you would be able to know the true feelings of Kamen Teacher. If you can take in something from that, I’d be happy!
New Student Council Members Behind the Scenes Talk Session
With the three members whose roles’ names are “vice president”, “secretary”, and “treasurer” with a slacked-off feeling, we had them talk with each other in a lax manner as well. It’s a talk with Sakuma, Miyadate, and Abe, and it’s been a while since their last appearance!
Miyadate: I wonder if we look like members of the student council.
Sakuma: We did a lot of delinquent roles after all. The only one that didn’t need to prepare for his role is Abe-chan.
Abe: I wanted to change at least my hairstyle though (laughs).
Miyadate: When watching “Kamen Teacher”, as I thought, “heroes” are cool.
Sakuma: Yea. I wanted to defeat monsters too!
Miyadate: What’s the definition of a hero, I wonder?
Sakuma: Have a strong sense of justice and thoughtful of friends. Also, be able to sympathize with the enemies.
Abe: Many points came out~ I have the image of them being really good at flipping their mantles.
Sakuma: Isn’t that more like a villain!?
Abe: There’s Superman though.
Miyadate: I see. For me, when speaking of heroes, when I was young, I admired “Red”.
Abe: You’re talking about ranger series, yea. Something something Ranger! Like that.
Miyadate: Red is the one that works the hardest in the team, yea? He’s like a leader and would challenge enemies head-on too. The way he’s passionate is what exactly makes him feel like a hero.
Sakuma: Ah. For colours among members of Snow Man, Date-san is red!
Miyadate: Fufufu.
Abe: Meaning, maybe he wants to say that he has the qualities of a leader and is a passionate man? (laughs)
Sakuma: I’m pink~♪
Miyadate: No, no. I really do have a ranger series that I loved. To the point that I went to the amusement park like every week to watch the hero show.
Abe: Compared to heroes on TV, I was more into the characters from portable games.
Sakuma: I want to become the hero that appears in a love comedy school anime ♥ I wonder if we can make a spin-off drama with us student council members and make it a love comedy?
Abe: Y-your ideas are too free…!
Miyadate: Speaking of free, I created a hidden backstory for the role I played.
Sakuma: What is it, what is it?
Miyada: I’m an ex-yankee and even though I turned over a new leaf for the girl I liked, I was dumped. When I tried to drop out of the school, the one who stopped me was the student council president.
Abe: Interesting (laughs). How about a hidden backstory of the family of that student council president owning a ramen restaurant?
Sakuma: Compared to ramen, fried rice is more popular.
Miyadate: Crap. If we talk any more than this, the world of the movie will collapse!
Abe: Forget all of this before going to the movie theatre (laughs).

≪Something that was painful≫ It was painful to have to act with a low voice. That’s because my voice is normally high. Also, my expressions. My eyes look too kind, so I try to make them look a bit more intense. I’ve never done acting like this before, so it was tough.
≪Message≫ I definitely want people to watch the fighting scenes. Also, I want them to check out the bonds between teachers and students too. I think you’d understand very well how people wouldn’t be able live without believing in each other. Also, violence would only bring about violence, so everyone, stop violence!
Tsukada Ryouichi
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ Lately, you’re cold. Why is it only me that you didn’t say “Let’s go out for food!” to (tears)? In the past, we often talked about music and borrowed and lent CDs. Next time, let’s recall the past and talk about music.
≪Amusement on set≫ Since I play the role of drama character within the movie, I pretty much have no interactions with other people in the cast, but when I meet people on set every now and then, everyone would welcome me warmly, so that made me happy. After the filming of the movie ended, we had a celebration party, and it was at that time, it’s like, “Nice to meet you” (laughs).
≪Something that was painful≫ Since it was filming in midsummer, it was hot, and very hot, so it was difficult. I kept sweating and really caused trouble for the make-up artist and costume stylist.
≪Message≫ When it’s time for “Kinpatsu-sensei”, just because it doesn’t have anything to do with the story, please don’t go to the toilet! I’m thinking of actually going to the theatre to check things out.
Kyoumoto Taiga
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ I want your clothes. I have a piece I’m aiming to get (from you), but I was told, “You can buy it yourself, right?” (laughs). I don’t wear such great clothes, you know? Even the clothes I’m wearing now is like a shirt that costs about 1000 yen. I want (clothes) too!
≪Amusement on set≫ The fact that I was able to play with M4 members was fun. While we were waiting (to film), the four of us played games.
≪Something that was painful≫ Action, I guess. I like action itself, but I had to show myself as weak. It was the first time I did action while looking weak, so that was hard.
≪Message≫ There are quite of a bit of thrills in the movie, but I think the parts where I appear can make people feel a bit warm-hearted. It’d be nice if that soft atmosphere can be conveyed.
Kikuchi Fuuma
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ The clothes you said, “I’ll give them to you,” I’ll go and get them anytime. Also, as the release is coming up, I think we’d see each other more at work, so please take care of me!
≪Amusement on set≫ It might be something that’s too normal, but to be able to meet with everyone in the cast. Since the atmosphere was really great, being on set itself was fun.
≪Something that was painful≫ None at all. I said this just now, but it’s because it was really fun on set.
≪Message≫ It’s a movie that I was able to film while really having fun, so it’d be nice if even a little bit of the atmosphere on set can be conveyed. Please definitely watch it.
Miyadate Ryouta
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ I was happy to have been able to talk with Fujigaya-kun about work between filming. You gave me a lot of advice, and they’re all things that I didn’t realize myself, so it was really a learning experience. Also, I was often teased by Fujigaya-kun on set. After giving me all that advice about work, it’s like, “So, why are you here (on set)?” (laughs). More like, we’re appearing (in the movie) together!
≪Amusement on set≫ Ever since watching the drama version, I’ve been thinking, “This school looks fun”. So, I was looking forward to be able to go to that school as a student. The school at night was really scary though...
≪Something that was painful≫ It was just hot! Also, I used a baton for the first time in a fighting scene, and it was quite difficult.
≪Message≫ I think it’s a movie where you can understand a teacher’s feelings quite well. If people who saw this movie are students, I’d be happy if they think about what kind of feelings their current homeroom teacher have while interacting with themselves.
Abe Ryouhei
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ Fujigaya-kun, I’m not the battlefield cameraman! [Note: This is referring to the battlefield cameraman Watanabe Youichi which Abe has impersonated at various occasions] No, well, this, every time I meet Fujigaya-kun, he’d say to me, “You’re like the battlefield cameraman”... Also, he’d also say to me, “You appeared in ‘Thermae Romae”, right?”, but I’m not a Roman!
≪Amusement on set≫ Fujigaya-kun created a great atmosphere for us, so I looked forward to being able to go on that filming set.
≪Something that was painful≫ There was a part where I had to act like I was kicked and lose consciousness, and that was difficult. I got advice from the director and somehow managed to do my best to play that part.
≪Message≫ My super studious-like hairstyle can only be seen in this movie! I think it’s quite rare, so please definitely watch it!
Sakuma Daisuke
≪To Fujigaya Teacher≫ When I heard about how we’re going to appear together in the movie for the first time, KisuMai’s Miyata-kun told me, “Even though Gaya-san looks like that, he’s very kind.” It’s really exactly as he says. You interacted with me kindly so I was very happy!
≪Amusement on set≫ When we were on the move in the bus, it was very fun. M4’s members teasing Abe was super funny. Also, we’d say the lines from the scene we’d be filming that day in an effeminate way and such, so it was fun to be noisy like we were on a school trip.
≪Something that was painful≫ I sweat a lot, so it was tough with the heat. Not to mention our costumes were winter clothes.
≪Message≫ Once you watch this movie, I think you would be able to know the true feelings of Kamen Teacher. If you can take in something from that, I’d be happy!
New Student Council Members Behind the Scenes Talk Session
With the three members whose roles’ names are “vice president”, “secretary”, and “treasurer” with a slacked-off feeling, we had them talk with each other in a lax manner as well. It’s a talk with Sakuma, Miyadate, and Abe, and it’s been a while since their last appearance!
Miyadate: I wonder if we look like members of the student council.
Sakuma: We did a lot of delinquent roles after all. The only one that didn’t need to prepare for his role is Abe-chan.
Abe: I wanted to change at least my hairstyle though (laughs).
Miyadate: When watching “Kamen Teacher”, as I thought, “heroes” are cool.
Sakuma: Yea. I wanted to defeat monsters too!
Miyadate: What’s the definition of a hero, I wonder?
Sakuma: Have a strong sense of justice and thoughtful of friends. Also, be able to sympathize with the enemies.
Abe: Many points came out~ I have the image of them being really good at flipping their mantles.
Sakuma: Isn’t that more like a villain!?
Abe: There’s Superman though.
Miyadate: I see. For me, when speaking of heroes, when I was young, I admired “Red”.
Abe: You’re talking about ranger series, yea. Something something Ranger! Like that.
Miyadate: Red is the one that works the hardest in the team, yea? He’s like a leader and would challenge enemies head-on too. The way he’s passionate is what exactly makes him feel like a hero.
Sakuma: Ah. For colours among members of Snow Man, Date-san is red!
Miyadate: Fufufu.
Abe: Meaning, maybe he wants to say that he has the qualities of a leader and is a passionate man? (laughs)
Sakuma: I’m pink~♪
Miyadate: No, no. I really do have a ranger series that I loved. To the point that I went to the amusement park like every week to watch the hero show.
Abe: Compared to heroes on TV, I was more into the characters from portable games.
Sakuma: I want to become the hero that appears in a love comedy school anime ♥ I wonder if we can make a spin-off drama with us student council members and make it a love comedy?
Abe: Y-your ideas are too free…!
Miyadate: Speaking of free, I created a hidden backstory for the role I played.
Sakuma: What is it, what is it?
Miyada: I’m an ex-yankee and even though I turned over a new leaf for the girl I liked, I was dumped. When I tried to drop out of the school, the one who stopped me was the student council president.
Abe: Interesting (laughs). How about a hidden backstory of the family of that student council president owning a ramen restaurant?
Sakuma: Compared to ramen, fried rice is more popular.
Miyadate: Crap. If we talk any more than this, the world of the movie will collapse!
Abe: Forget all of this before going to the movie theatre (laughs).
