Duet, Potato and Wink Up January 2012 KisuMai, Johnny's Juniors, T&T, etc Scans
This month's magazines probably took the longest to scan, out of like the 3 years worth of magazines I've scanned. (Whoa, I've been scanning for that long already?) Just...seriously. The number of pages are just crazy.
Some tidbits first. In addition to the Ebi photos I mentioned in my previous post, Sexy Zone also got some photos, 5 per member when they were guesting at the concert, and some of the Juniors that were backdancing got photos as well, including NonSana and Taiga I believe. 3 each.
Moshimo Tours today had a short VTR from KisuMai promoting their second single. It seems like there won't be KisuMai members next week either (everyone guessed wrong, oops), so hopefully on the 24th then! That should be the last episode of the year. KisuMai are listed to appear in Nakai's special show Za Dainenpyou on 12/30 (NTV) as well as Uwasa Toshokan special in the new year, 1/3. From early release of TV Life. Also, the songs recorded on We never give up! Tokyo Dome edition digest DVD are Everybody Go, Wakamonotachi, Kis-My-Land, S.O.Kiss, Inori, Fire Beat, Kiss For U, and Everybody Go (encore?).
Toma and Yara are graduating from the magazines, if you haven't heard already. They're only likely to come back every now and then when they have something to promote, and well, they do both have something coming up? Toma with Bokura ga Ita and Yara with that stage play. Hip Hop Jump isn't in any of the magazines and Question? isn't in WU. In Potato's special corner thing where people have to say what they're sorry for, we finally get to hear it from Yuugo's own words that he was injured. He didn't mention what his injury was though and how he got injured as it was all very brief, but at least for sure he's fine now!
All three magazines have some sort of best shot collection, looking back at all 12 issues of 2011, and it's part of the reason why scanning took so long. Last year, I believe I scanned the booklets separately and shared them in a different post (both uploading each page separately and as a zip file), but this year, I decided to scan them all at once. This means I won't upload each page on its own, and I hope that's fine. I don't want to code all three booklets...
Another reason why stuff took longer than usual was because of the amount of stuff to stitch together. I stitched not only the regular pin-ups but also the special present spreads and Duet's Johnny's Journal. What Johnny's Journal is is basically a bunch of columns/serials from Duet and they pulled them out from the magazine pages and printed them as what's like a newspaper. The size is roughly a two-fold pin-up and has 8 pages. Technically speaking, it's not a pin-up, so I could have not stitched them together (in fact, I was telling myself I shouldn't care about it), but the layout on most pages did allow for easy stitching, so I put them together in the end. The texture of the paper is similar to newsprint, therefore, not the best quality. You can tell if you zoom into the scans.
Oh, and something hilarious. For September issue of WU, KisuMai had this spread where each member gets one page of a close-up and it's supposed to be real life size, right? Readers picked that shot of Hiro to be the most favourite of the year, and Wataru commented how isn't that photo bigger than the actual person, and they measured...and it turns out that Hiro is smaller than the photo. XDDDD Real life size failllll, lol.
