Trip to Blue Mountain

Aug 08, 2006 13:26

I was going to update yesterday...but catching up on the entries on my friends' list took longer than expected. I was gone for one night...and I had to backtrack 360 entries. D= Then, my inbox was also spammed with 15 e-mails...it's actually not a lot...but point taken.

So basically...yesterday was Civic Holiday...yes? My family decided we should go somewhere over the weekend because it's not everyday my parents can have a long weekend. Like, they won't take a day off without good reason...so yea. At first, they were like let's on some sort of tour to uh...places...there's was one which was somewhere north of Toronto...then there was one to New York (which I totally wanted to go because I haven't been to NYC in ages)...but then my uncle couldn't get more than one day off and going to NYC takes too long...hence...they somehow ended up deciding to go to Barrie and Blue Mountain.

There was seven of us altogether. My family of four, my aunt and uncle, and my mom's friend's mother...who basically is like a grandmother to me.

It took us around an hour to get to Barrie...I basically just turned on my mp3 and slept. Woke up and found myself at a flea market. Was hungry since I didn't eat breakfast..so we ate breakfast...which wasn't that great, by the way (too salty >.<)...walked around a bit. But flea markets were never really my thing...so nothing interesting.

After the flea market, we went to shorefront of Barrie where there was some sort of festival going on. I slept again in the car. There were like tons of people at the shorefront...since it also has a beach and stuff. While there were some concert shows going on, the tent-shops were basically mainly art and crafts. There were some pretty hats as well, but were too expensive so I didn't buy them. Otherwise, I would have bought at least two to add to my collection. =D

The hot dogs were on extremely dry and hard buns...so I wasn't too happy. And the woman at the shop thingy wouldn't freakin' give my Nestea because they were only giving out either water bottle or regular pop (Pepsi or Diet Pepsi) with the combo. fkaug vilquwrgf What if people don't like pop (ME) and want a Nestea??? The price of the two is freakin' the same newayz...at least that's what they wrote on the board. So what's the difference?

Newayz...there was also one of those small travelling amusement parks there...my sister wanted to go on the ferris wheel...so I went on with her. Haven't been on one in ages. I think the last time I was on one...was back when I was in Hong Kong at least a few years ago. So pictures taken on the ferris wheel:

Now that I think about it...I actually stuck my camera out of the carriage thing...what if I had dropped my camera? Scary thought. I'd cried. D= There was another little boy on the carriage with us, mainly because he was all alone so the tech person dumped him with us. I wasn't really paying attention to him, but I'm pretty sure the boy must be thinking "What the hell is this girl doing, taking pictures of like everything with her camera????" Lol.

Enough about the fair/amusement park.

We were on our way to Blue Mountain when we past by a Winners and my aunt decided she wanted to go check it out. Went it and I found a nice pair of jeans and a nice soft Fila sweater. Had fun in the fitting room...even took one or two pictures of me in those clothes. Lol. Ended up buying the sweater only...since they both pretty expensive (weren't on sale)...and I like the sweater more...though the jeans were pretty. ><'' Oh well.

I slept in the car again...by the time I woke, we arrived at Blue Mountain and the cottage-ish house hotel room thingy that we rented. Nothing much to say...it's like a house...with hotel...stuff. Lol. We brought food with us, so my mom and aunt prepared a delicious dinner, consisting of lamb chops, chicken (wings and drumsticks), fish filet, shrimps (more like prawns) and vegetables (beans, cucumber, zuchini). I was extremely full afterwards. While waiting, I just lied on the sofa, reading my Duet. Managed to get through half of it.

After dinner, we decided to go explore the village where the shops, pubs, etc are. Except a lot of them were closed already. D= At like 9 something pm. That's like early...or maybe it feels like early because generally Chinese people can go out like literally any time of the day. 10:00pm is like early... And then Ben and Jerry's was closed due to high demand and low staff members. D= My ice cream! Boo. ><''

Went back to the cottage and drew in my sketchbook since I brought it with me. Ate oranges and strawberries for dessert (since I didn't get my ice cream).

The next day, we went to explore the village properly. I even got to eat Ben and Jerry's ice cream at 11:00am. Lol. Before lunch. But that was because my sister was whining and wanted ice cream. So I shared a scoop with her. =P

Newayz, pictures!~

Doesn't really have a focal point. Geh. It's looks like my first darkroom print...since they're the same flowers as the one in my frontyard...and have similar composition. My darkroom print was better though. Since there was actual soft focus...despite the wrong flower was in focus. Lol.

The first one on the left, focal point is off. It's focused on the wrong flower. The second one though, is finally focused correctly. Pretty flowers ne? I'm going to include this photo in my portfolio. XD

More flowers. Lol.

Views of the villages. Wish I took a few better ones though...then I could have used the photo to paint a watercolour picture.

It's not very clear...but see that blue-ish thing near the middle of the picture? It's a dragonfly. There were like a whole bunch of them on the water...but they move too fast. D=

That's basically all I have to say. After checking out, we went to a Tim Hortons that ran of buns/baguettes for lunch...so I couldn't eat my chili and had a bagel with cream cheese and a raisin biscuit instead.

Then we stopped by Cook's Town...which was boring because there's not a lot of shops and none of them really interest me...especially when there weren't too much sale going on.

Dinner was delicious...like my mom said...dinner is the regular/best meal of the day...because all the other meals we had weren't that great. =P

I got to skip dance. =P

Sunday was my parents' 23rd anniversay. Yesterday was my mom's Chinese birthday.

Basically that's it. ^^
