Well, definitely will be buying the KAT-TUN DVD. I was there after all when it was recorded. The limited edition since want the full version of the documentary and not the digest.
They're going to show the stage play Believer that Kazama was in on NHK. Mh, interesting.
...oh, and of course, since KisuMai aren't appearing in Kakumei, they get their third round of concerts! ...yea. Well, I can't do anything about those. Can't fly to Japan and watch them again. If they keep this up though, they'll really, really raise our hopes up. Johnny won't be debuting two groups in a year, right? Since there's 2011 volleball supporters coming up. They've never had a group that's already concretely formed as supporters before. Either way, I hope for pretty goods and I shall get my hands on them somehow. If possible, not too many shop photos so I can save some money.
Anyways, remember how I mentioned I have an essay outline due on Thursday this week for my Art of Asia-ish course? Well, I was washing my hair while thinking about it and thought I finally got a topic! Then, when I tried to organize my thoughts afterwards though, I can't seem to make it work, especially when there's a lack of resources. orz;;
At first, I thought about concentrating on hero shows in Japan because the number of superheroes in Japan is rather high with various generations and all and even prefecture-limited ones. (Specifically thinking about Okinawa thanks to the episode of School Kakumei on Okinawa and SPEED appearing on 5LDK.) Not to mention a good amount of them are popular outside of Japan as well. You don't seem to find the same type of heroes outside of Japan. If any, they're influenced by Japanese originals, like the Power Rangers.
From there, I thought of touching upon maybe why these types of shows are so popular or why they developed in Japan in the first place. ...resources are really difficult to find though. Not to mention she says that we shouldn't use any Internet resrouces unless they're academic e-journals, books available online or legitimate newspapers. =| That won't be quite possible in my case? Where will I be able to find an academic article about the history of like Super Sentai, Ultraman, and Kamen Riders? Seriously. I fail at ideas though.
Any suggestions? Basically, the essay topic just has to deal with Visual Culture within Asia, preferably in Japan in my case.
Photogram that I mentioned previously.
For those of you who don't know, photograms are photographs that does not require a negative or a camera to make. You just need to put objects on top of a piece of photographic paper and expose it to light, then put the paper through normal chemical processes as you would make a regular black & white print. Colour photograms are also possible, but they're mainly done in black & white. Depending on much light goes through the object(s), you'll get white (where no light goes through), black (area completely exposed to light) or shades of grey (where various amounts of light reaches the paper).
Feel free to guess what I used to make these abstract photograms, lol. X3
I'll reveal the answers some other time, haha.
