I have ten sides of pages left and I've typed up almost two.
Here's some more:

William turned to Gabriel, adjusting his hat once more.
“How do I look?” He asked, searching for approval even though he knew
a. He looked spectacular.
b. Gabriel would be polite, with his inferiority in social rank.
c. Gabriel was his comrade, so he had to say he looked good.
“You look charming, sir.” William had discussed with Gabriel many times that he didn’t need to be addressed as “sir”, but yet Gabriel insisted on using the title. However, the two men were intimate in friendship and the title was not necessary. William felt that the name put stiffness on their relationship and a formal tone that he did not favor.
“And you, Gabirel. Dressed to impress.” Color rushed to Gabriel’s cheeks.
“With all due respect, she, Miss Victoria, has hardly laid eyes on me.”
“Negativity, my dear Gabriel, will not win you the fair lady.”

Sophia followed her sister into the large estate; slightly larger than their own, Victoria had nored. This was actually going to be Sophia’s first

ball. Her time at finishing school had not allowed for balls, and the fact that she was out just now at nineteen years old was also a factor. She remembered how when she had been younger, she’d hide up by the balcony with Victoria and watch all of the handsome men and beautiful ladies dance and mingle at the balls their parents held. She and Victoria would point out the most handsome and wealthy men, giggling. One time they had even attempted a waltz, taking turns at being the man and the lady.
“Sophia, this is Sir William.” She heard her sister say. Sophia took in Sir William; his dancing eyes and the elegant air in the way he walked, the way he extended his hand. She’d barely noticed her sister talking, having been occupied with his lush hair, tied at the base of his neck and curling slightly at the ends. She didn’t take his hand, for that would tarnish her ladylike image (and after all of those funds for school to make her act like a lady). Sir William stopped abruptly, saving face by bowing gallantly. She curtsied and he spoke the first words she’d actually listened to that evening.
“Hello, Miss Sophia.”

Gabriel was very much aware of the two eyes that seemed perpetually fixated on him all evening. And he didn’t exactly favor it. There he was, suddenly conscious of every single one of his movements. He’d been trying to hold a conversation with one of the cooks, Alexander, and then he would remember those shiny eyes just looking, searching.

“Miss Sophia, I have been graced with dancing with your sister. I was just wondering if you would care to be my partner in the next.” Her cheeks bloomed to a soft shade of pink.
“Oh, how you flatter me, Sir. I’d be much obliged to dance with you.” Sir William broke into a grin that made Sophia’s heart leap into her throat. He took her hand, clutching it as one would a delicate crystal glass and led her to the dance floor.

Victoria watched her sister dance with Sir William. Envy rose inside her. Sir William was twice as pleasant with Sophia as he was with herself. And the way that they looked at each other! Victoria couldn’t take it. She felt as if her heart, beneath all of her cleavage, had been stabbed with a dagger. She felt betrayed, betrayed and unloved, even though it hadn’t really been Sophia’s fault. She had never felt this way before. Never felt it with so much intensity.
She needed to get home.
She needed to cry.

“Excuse me?” Gabriel turned to the girl’s searching eyes. She couldn’t be older than eighteen, with a tumbleweed of golden curls. She was most definitely a footlady; perhaps even for Miss Victoria. Gabriel decided that she reminded him a bit of a dwarf. “I noticed you looking at me. Can I help you with something?” Gabriel offered. He wasn’t sure why he was being polite: this was a servant girl, it wasn’t required. But still. He supposed it was pity.
“Oh, um,” The last in her string of logic was lost because he voice was so soft. Greta hurried away, mortified, off to find a powder room.
She needed to cry.

OMG THE COMPLEXITIES.
I love how it's not even a love triangle, it's like, a love pentagon or some other complicated shape. A love decagon, I don't even know. Gabriel and his, "sir," and his politeness and his obvious love of Victoria - Gabe is my favorite. I'm really loving this. ♥
