As Axl climbed into the recharge pod, he thought about how the day had gone. After his sentience testing, he had
gone to the library to look up information on the energy shields that his tester had used. That, in turn, had led to his encounter with Blaze. That conversation had not started off well, but in the end, they'd parted ways amicably enough. Axl had also found out where energy shields could be bought. All in all, it had been a productive experience.
Afterwards, he had headed straight for the Hunters, intending to put his newly obtained ID to good use. Unfortunately, before he got there, a
reploid named Gate had literally appeared out of nowhere. That encounter had not gone well. In retrospect, Axl grudgingly admitted to himself that he'd been a bit too jumpy, but it still irritated him that all the blame was laid at his feet. Damn that Harpuia.
Harpuia had, of course, reported the incident to Signas, and as a result
Signas hadn't allowed him to join the Hunters.
With all his plans lying in pieces, Axl had had no choice but to return to the City Hall to get help finding a place to stay for the night. He'd also asked them to try to find his home world, but they'd been completely unsuccessful. They couldn't even determine if his world was still there. The concept of vanishing realities probably should have disturbed him more, but really, it only left him annoyed. It was just one more thing interfering with getting what he wanted.
In the end, the people at City Hall had given him a few brochures, directions to a hostel, and a small handful of money. The hostel had rooms where mechanicals could recharge, which brought him to where he was now. Axl grimaced as he finished settling into the pod, closing his eyes as he thumbed the switch to activate it.
No, today had not gone how he wanted at all. Tomorrow, though... Well, he'd deal with tomorrow when it got here.
