The Unrelenting Mr. Smith
A fictitious movie character reminded me that only a foolish, self-destructive dedication to a cause can bring results. Even when the friendliest devil offered a tempting proposition, he fled rather than compromised. When his fellows ignored him and thought him mad, he just spoke all the louder. And when they paid him mind with derision and ridicule, he bore the humiliation and clung to his truth.
