Haha, I liked it muchly! Would be interesting to see the whole thing through the other Kirk´s eyes, as well. Great idea, thanks for the read. :)

Thanks! I was going to switch POV's, but my alpha reader convinced me to stick with one POV through the story. I think that worked better (as a story). I think the main reason was that when you have two characters who both think they are James T. Kirk, disambiguating them was going to be tricky.

Originally, this story was going to have hot Kirk-on-Kirk action, but I realized that the circumstances I had set up would have made that too convoluted.

He loved his universe. ;)

Great story. It showed were the differences lie between the two Kirks very well.
Thanks.

Hah, what a delight to read! I loved Kirk's observations of AOS!Spock &ndash that Spock is really remarkably snotty and smartass &ndash and I also enjoyed how you brought the original Kirk and Spock together. The Number One cameo (it was her, wasn't it?) was a great bonus.

"I have no personal attachments to my theories. I am a scientist," Spock stated.

That line absolutely cracked me up. :D

P.S.: to an obsessive student human nature You might be missing an "of" here, I'm not sure.

P.P.S.: I wouldn't mind seeing more of your TOS!Kirk and TOS!Spock as you portrayed them in this fic; it would be interesting to see their tentative friendship develop and watch how they influence each other.

I wrote a bunch of stories in this vein about five years ago. Hypatia Kosh writes K/S.

I've written a smattering of other pairings, too, if you troll around the /slash/ folder. /x/ is R and over, /y/ is G-PG.

Ah yes, but... I couldn't really tell you why but especially your Spock in this fic seems subtly different from the one in your other stories, with the possible exception of Breakers.

Anyways, this was very enjoyable. I just read it again and had so much fun at the criticism of Pine!Kirk and Quinto!Spock. (Even though I like the new film, the new characters are very different from the 'old' Kirk and Spock.)

Oh man, this was brilliant. I have to admit, though, I'm curious to see what happened with XI Kirk, even though I understand how it would have been confusing to have both POVs in one story. I, er, don't suppose you might consider an alternate POV sequel or deleted scene?

Me too ... think I need to see the movie again. (hello, bittorrent ... I went to the movie theatre to see it in my Spock uniform and my glasses broke halfway through the movie ... no, really ... MY GLASSES BROKE IN TWO WHILE I WAS WATCHING STAR TREK)
