back in the day like freshman year i was sadly connected with the rotc kids (no offense to any of the nice ones....there were few). my obvious connection was trying to tell his friends who i was and he told them my name was ashley doster. a dear boy named walter perez (who by the way is probably one of the funniest and nicest people you will ever meet) screamed "ashy shasta?!?!" so....after that day i became known to the rotc population as shasta. mike pascone, mark denton and crew would scream "shastaaaaaaaaa" everytime they saw me around school. annoying but at the same time pretty funny i suppose. after most of them graduated it kinda died down. so when i joined guard senior year i had to order my sweatshirt with a nickname on it. i didn't really want ash or ashley because that's pretty lame. somebody, either heather or terr i believe, brought up the shasta thing and everyone liked it so i was like..surrrrre. and so it stuck....people outside of guard and band even started calling me shasta. i love that everyone still says it now. i also love that shannon couldn't find my number in her phone because it was under shasta and not ashley like she thought. and i love that it would seem odd to me if one of my friends greeted me with a "hey ashley" instead of a "shastaaaaaaaaa". but my favorite thing is that there's a shasta soda and their rootbeer is delicious.
well kids, now you know the story and i only have dear wally p. to thank. now i need to find a snack
bye
