--------

Shinhwa’s Kindergarten.

Little Dongwoon was wearing all-white and particularly loved taking his precious nap on the bench in the school’s garden.

Tiny Kikwang was playing with his robots and giggled happily while mumbling nothings to his robots.

Petite Junhyung was counting his fake money he had won when they played Game of Life earlier.

Whereas our Little Doojoon was attacked by a bug that he still hate in the present.

“Go away! Go away!” Doojoon tried to shoo the bug away.

Junhyung, Kikwang and Dongwoon were too busy to notice their troubled friend, but someone else came to the rescue.

It was a girl with freckles on her rosy cheeks grinned happily when she had swatted the bug away with her book.

“It’s gone.” The little girl assured Doojoon with a weak smile, while she gazed lovingly at the scared boy.

Doojoon always had a bad temper, even when he’s a child. He doesn’t use the word ‘thank you’ or ‘sorry’ in his daily life, therefore he didn’t thank the girl for standing up for him.

The girl poked his sketchbook to Doojoon, deeming this was a perfect timing to show the boy her drawing. Doojoon uninterestedly glanced at the drawing.

It was a boy and a girl, a couple. Supposedly Doojoon and the girl, judging by the names labeled below, holding hands in a wedding ceremony.

Pissed off, Doojoon shouted, “How dare an ugly like you declare to be my bride?”

Doojoon scoffed and snatched the book away from her hands. Then he shoved it to the ground and stomped on it without mercy.

The innocent girl broke into tears due to the harsh treatment. “Please don’t. Please.”

To make it worse, Doojoon stuck out his tongue, “You ugly pumpkin. It’s impossible for anyone to like you with that face! Get lost!”

Only then, the mini F4 members realized their leader was picking on a girl. Kids, just tend to just go with the flow. So did Junhyung, Kikwang and Dongwoon joined in to bully her.

“Freak~!”

“You’re so hideous~”

“Go home, ugly pumpkin!”

They never realized what they were doing at the moment. Changing a life of a particular girl, haunting the innocent child for years. The girl refused to go to school, living in much pain and fear. Ugly, ugly, ugly. Why was she so ugly? What was her fault?

Krystal ended the short story with a stricken expression on her face. “You had no idea how I lived after that incident.”

“I was terrified to even step out of the house for three years.” She continued, “I hated the fact that I was so ugly. Luckily, I have money. You know what I did to finally have this face?”

“A surgery once every two years. The pain was even worse than death. Suicide came across my thoughts every now and then, but I had set my goal.” Krystal laughed, “Your expression right now are priceless. That expression you’re having right now, is exactly what I came back for.”

Doojoon couldn’t really feel his face. He knew he had been awful. But he never knew he was that evil in his childhood times.

“Even though I don’t remember, I’m sorry.” Were the only words that could escape from his lips.

“No!” Krystal shrieked suddenly, her eyes widened in horror, “Sorry is not the word I want to hear from you!”

“Look at me. Am I not beautiful?” She took a few steps forward to get closer to Doojoon. Tears were already in the verge of falling from her eyes. “I have become so pretty. Don’t you like me? Say that you like me. Say that you love me!!”

Doojoon stared at the sobbing girl indifferently. Those were probably fake tears anyway. He felt pity on the girl at first, but right now, he just wants this witch out of his house.

“Say it! Say that you love me!” She begged between the sobs.

“How pathetic.” Those two words of Doojoon, made Krystal’s face darkened. “I can’t watch anymore.”

There was not a slight remorse on his face. At all.

“It doesn’t matter if it was the past or present. You’re still a freak.” Doojoon said, “You’ve became worse than before. At least the girl back then; her heart was beautiful.”

Doojoon came back to Yoseob’s room to find that the blonde’s sound asleep. He approached the bed, tucked the blanket more and leaned forward to the sleeping blonde.

His lips were such a tease. But fortunately Doojoon controlled himself and landed a delicate kiss on the younger’s forehead.

Doojoon crooked a little smile, glad that the drama was finally over. “Good night.”

He got up to catch some sleep too, he’s had an awfully long day. He carefully pulled the door open, hoping to make the minimal sound he could make, afraid that the blonde might wake up from the noise.

Until the door was fully closed, Yoseob’s eyes fluttered open.

Yoseob had been fully awake the whole time. He ran his fingers up to his forehead, rubbing the exact location where Doojoon planted the peck.

“My heart, please. You cannot pound for that pig head.” Yoseob mumbled to himself.

He then slapped himself mentally for his pukey-sappiness and went to dreamland with a big grin he couldn’t help plastered on his face.

“Your school uniform, shoes, and other accessories have been prepared during the night for you, Sir.”

“But, it’s…”

The head servant asked nervously when he saw Yoseob face wasn’t exactly happy, “Are you not satisfied with anything, Sir?” He did not want to get fired by his young master after all those years of loyalty he had given because of one little mistake. “But we do apologize for one thing.”

Yoseob gaped at the price tag hanging on the handle. “Well, my bike is a bit different from this one. This one a little bit pricey. Mine was one of those averages and extremely, extremely, extremely average bicycles.”

“I apologize, Sir. Young master had given orders to buy you things that were exactly the same as the old ones. But that bike Sir, it was impossible for us to find that same model.” The head servant hung his head which made Yoseob very uncomfortable.

“But... That's still... This price. 18 million won is just…” Yoseob couldn’t finish his sentence and then shook his head. “Thank you. But can I ask you something?”

“Yes?”

“Why haven’t I seen that pig- Doojoon at all?” Yoseob corrected himself quickly.

“Young Master left early this morning.” The older man replied.

Yoseob tilted his head to the side, “Where’d he go?”

The bell rang in the Yang’s residence; it was Sohyun who opened the door to welcome the guest. It must be his brother. She was ready to yell at him for coming home late again, but it was not. Her mouth hung open as her eyes landed upon the most good-looking male on earth.

Doojoon gave out the friendliest smile he could manage, this girl could probably be his sister-in-law anyways. Then he heard some woman shouting from inside, “Who is it Sohyun? Has your brother come home?”

Sohyun could only mouth the words that Doojoon caught as ‘F’ and a bit ‘Yoon Doojoon’ but he wasn’t quite sure.

When Sohyun could finally find her voice, the first thing she said: “H-He’s here!”

“Why are you stuttering? I asked you whether your brother has come home.”  Some middle age man showed up, “Oh, whose son is this? He looks so handsome.”

“F4’s Yoon Doojoon.” Sohyun supplied.

“Who?” Papa Yang asked.

Doojoon could hear Sohyun whispered to the man, “Shinhwa’s heir, Dad.”

The lobby was in chaos when Yoseob arrived. A group of girls quickly approached Yoseob, blocking him from proceeding, one of them squealed in a very annoying voice, “Oh my darling Seobbie, how could that horrible Krystal do to you?”

One of them ran her fingers along Yoseob’s chin which made him shuddered, “Even backstabbing has its limits.”

“Please let me through,” Yoseob said. But it was too late as the crowd became larger and he noticed Krystal at the end of the hallway.

“Look at her,” Dasom said while pointing to Krystal, “She must have spent most of her family fortune to fix everything on her face. I wondered how she lived while enduring the pain from those surgeries. With surgery, who wouldn’t be just as beautiful as she is?”

Bora, Dasom’s friend, put up a big poster, Krystal’s kindergarten photo. The one she scratched out from the yearbook photo but it was now for public as it was resized to ten times bigger.

“Is that... A face of a human?” Soyu gaped.

Dasom chuckled, “If I looked like that, I would've committed suicide a long time ago.”

“Haven't you all fix yourself too? Don’t act like you haven’t gotten plastic surgery at all.” Yoseob breathed out. He laughed mentally at the bullshit that they were talking. “Why are you still picking on Krystal?”

Yoseob didn’t know why he was defending Krystal, but his mouth kept babbling. “If it's okay for people who are already beautiful to want to be more beautiful, why isn't it okay for ugly people to want to do it? She didn't just do it for no reason. She paid a tremendously painful price.”

The crowd fell into silence as Yoseob walked through them, right then passing Krystal.

“I won’t beg for forgiveness,” Krystal said with a stern voice. “Nor I will apologize.”

Yoseob stared hard at her before taking up his own hand and slapped Krystal. “Don't even think that I can forgive you.”

“Hmm? What’s with the crowd?”

Everyone turned to the owner of the voice, only to find Doojoon looking pleased with himself. Clearly oblivious to the serious atmosphere.

When he finally spotted Yoseob, he shouted throughout the room. “Everybody, listen up!”

Doojoon snaked his arms around the blonde’s waist. “There is something that I want to clearly announce to all of you. From today on, first-year Yang Yoseob of Class B has become my, Yoon Doojoon's, lover. I'm formally announcing this here.”

Yoseob could swear he saw Krystal fainting on the corner of his eyes. Disapproval shoutings were heard around the room but he received congratulations from some of the boys.

“Silence!” Doojoon shouted, “From now on, Yoseob’s words and actions will be treated the same as orders of Yoon Doojoon, me. Do you understand?”

Some of the crowd murmured, “Yes.”

Doojoon yelled in a louder voice making Yoseob rolled his eyes, “Understand?!”

The crowd answered, louder this time. “Yes!”

But there was a deep voice that spread across the room, it was low, but loud enough for everyone to catch that. “I object.”

Is that…?

Yoseob’s question was answered by the girls squealing, well, shouting.

“Dongwoon-sunbae!”

“That’s Son Dongwoon!”

“He’s back!”

Dongwoon smirked, “I’m back.”

“Isn’t it too soon for that Dongwoon to come back?” Hyunseung’s brows knitted in a frown. “If he came back so early, could it mean… something happened over there? In Paris?”

Yoseob answered with a shrug, “Maybe.”

Hyunseung raised an eyebrow. “And why are you not happy?” He paused and gasped, “Oh, you have your Doojoon-darling now.”

Yoseob immediately sent a death glare to his friend, “It’s not like that. In any case, I don’t even know about my feelings anymore.”

“Feelings for who?”

Yoseob rolled his eyes, “You know who I meant. I feel like something has changed.”

“Maybe after drinking Paris water that Dongwoon must’ve gotten a lot hotter,” Hyunseung joked but received a scowl from the blonde in return. He’s in the mood of teasing today.

“I told you it’s not like that Seung!” Yoseob said while placing a light punch on Hyunseung’s shoulder while the other just giggled happily. Then Yoseob’s attention was distracted by his ringing phone. A new phone, actually. Doojoon got him one, for the sake of communication blah-blah-blah.

He flipped his phone open. “Oh? Sohyun? … What? I’ll be right there!”

Hyunseung gave him a puzzled look. “What was that?”

“Sohyun. She said there’s a family emergency. Sorry Seung, I need to get home now!” Yoseob put his hands apologetically while bowing his head.

The older of the two chuckled, “It’s fine. I think I am getting used to being abandoned.”

Yoseob felt guilty, “I never meant to abandon you! Sorry Seungie, I’ll make it up to you!”

Hyunseung waved him off with a smile, “Just go. Emergency, remember?”

***

“Dad! Mom! What happened?” Yoseob yelled with clear panic.

“Oh Yoseob’s home!” Yoseob heard his mother squealed.

“Oppa, I’m here! Come over and take a look at all this.” Sohyun called.

Yoseob gaped at the view, “What is all of this?” His house was crammed with new appliances and furniture. Dining table, sofa, TV, and refrigerator.

“It was Oppa who sent all this.” Sohyun supplied even before his brother asked who’s it from.

“Oppa?” Yoseob raised a curious brow. Since when Sohyun had a rich boyfriend who’d buy her all these things?

“Doojoon-oppa. As for the beds, because our door was too small, we had to send them back. Oppa you know those lacey princess beds with the canopies, it was such a waste.” Sohyun nagged.

Oh. His hyung did this. That pig head.

His mom nodded, “We should've knocked down the door to get that bed in here.”

Yoseob’s eyes widened in horror as he yelled, “How can you just accept everything he sends over?”

Mama Yang came towards his son and laughed, “What did the delivery man do wrong?”

Dad who was just as unhelpful, obviously siding with his wife this time. “We had to accept these, so that those people could go back.”

Then Sohyun joined in the pleading, “Why should we send them back?”

Yoseob’s body trembled in frustration. His family just consisted of gold-diggers. Really. “Just rewrap all this. We will send them back!”

He had one destination set in mind.

“Yah Yoon Doojoon!”

Yoseob stormed into F4’s headquarters which he noticed there were extra female guests that night and successfully found Doojoon on the couch in front of plasma playing Wii.

“Hey pig-head, I’m talking to you!” Yoseob prodded further.

Doojoon didn’t even realize the blonde’s presence until he blocked the TV from him. “Oh, you came?” He pouted, “Move away! I can’t see!”

“No.”

Doojoon sulked, “I was about to get a high score, fat chance for that now, thanks to you. What the hell do you want?”

“Without getting permission, how could you turn my house upside down?” Yoseob said, getting straight to the point.

“Oh, that” Doojoon immediately catching what Yoseob meant. “Was there something you didn’t like? Tell me and I’ll switch it.”

Yoseob’s eyes widened in disbelieve. “Hey! My family has beds too, and chairs. Washing machine, refrigerator, TV, we have all of them!”

“Isn't it great to replace them with new ones?” Doojoon said with a stupid grin.

“Why are you replacing them? What the heck are you?” Yoseob was frustrated to have to communicate with an idiot.

“Well, starting yesterday I’m your boyfriend.” Doojoon answered simply.

Yoseob blushed on the said-statement and made him stuttered, “A-Are you like that with all your girlfriends or boyfriends? After a while do you change houses too?”

Doojoon said thoughtfully, “Actually, I wanted to change your house first, but Mr. Jung stopped me and told me to do it later since it’s attached to the flower shop.”

Yoseob retorted, “I don’t know how you treat your previous girlfriends or boyfriends before. But I don’t like these kinds of stuff!”

“None.” Doojoon mumbled while staring at the floor.

Yoseob quirked a brow, “What?”

“My previous girlfriends or whatever…there was none,” Doojoon said while looking to his shoes and ran his fingers up his hair nervously.

“You’re my first.”
