yet another random update
-saw speed racer in IMAX twice this week (if you haven't seen it, for the love of video games, cars, speed racer, mario kart, and cgi go see it goddamnit!)
-truck is running beautifully, took it up into the santa cruz hills the other day and had some fun drifting around and just generally hauling ass. shifter has been slowly getting worse, not babying it anymore, just driving hard and hoping it breaks towards the end of summer so i have an excuse to swap out my entire drivetrain
-been mostly sticking to my planned budget of debt paying (500 a week towards debt), but more work hours would help, although it's totally on me to keep hunting for a full time job
-trying not to vacation all summer, not sure how i'm going to manage. supposed to last until symbiosis gathering in september, but may make an exception for reggae on the river in august
-i've been waiting for my goddamn personalized license plates for my truck for 4 months now. they said it might be another 2
-oh yeah, the truck has a new badass stereo and will soon have a bass tube and amp in as well. other random projects include fixing the horn and wiring up license plate lights
-debating whether my next vehicle will be a 4x4 efi 4runner or another baja bug. i know i'm getting both, just not sure which one first. doesn't matter, cause i have to wait until at least january when a certain amount of debt is paid off
ok, so this post has been about nothing other than paying off the debt, and all the shit i want and can't have yet due to this. typical shasha summer, hah. daydreaming about all the stuff i will do and buy when today's money is not paying for something from yesterday. during school, i used to say that i was "borrowing from my future." well, that future is now, and i'm handling it. once i get a "real" job, it will be worth what i'm currently paying, which is basically a debt acquired due to school. i'm just somewhere in between the school and the job, and this purgatory is a typical summer place to be for me.
the difference this summer is that i have my truck, and i've already spent all the money to make it perfect. all that's left to do is the drivetrain and fiberglass, and that's relatively cheap. i'm doing the interior cheaply and piece by piece over the course of the year. and then it's all about buying the next truck and/or baja bug.
so... when i'm spending the summer daydreaming because i have nothing to do because i have no money, i'm doing it while cruising in my truck. and gas money is not real money anyway :P
