There really is no gif to add to the feelings I have. THERE ARE JUST SO MANY!!!
Left work at 3pm and HALLE-FRICKEN-LUJAH I was ready to be done with work by 10am. Well, actually when I got there, so 8am, but I knew that time need to pass in order for me to go to the concert I've been wanting to happen again for four years.
Anyway, Mom and Camron picked me up and we drove the long and fairly boring drive through Heber to Park City. Turns out we had driven by the venue several times on our Park City timeshare visits. So huzzah! We grabbed Quiznos for dinner and packed it in with us along with our blankets and lawn chairs. This was pretty sweet. I'm so used to places checking your purses, not letting you bring cameras, rules rules rules. Yeah, this place let you bring coolers and whatever the crap you wanted as long as your lawn chair wasn't too high to obscure vision of the person behind you.
We find our spot dead center of the stage, aka, by the sound equipment and garbage cans. After much debating, we shifter the garbage cans so we wouldn't be blocking them later and to have more room \O/ There were some spots in front of us that were semi being saved and we talked to the lady they belonged to and said we could use them if her party didn't take them. Then three fat drunken douches came and plopped their butts in front of us. Gee thanks.
The stage!
Viewness! Woot ski lifts and awesome Park City hills~
Camron and I then frolicked over to the merch table to look at shinys. My debit card is slightly bent, so it took a while to get the ATM to be nice and give me cash to buy shinys XP I wanted so much more than I got, but... no money. Still got more than I should have, but yeah, I have my strange reasons.
Note the sign by Camron. Hmmm~
:D
Mom and Camron! They are so excited to be here!!
As is Krista! :D
Opening band, Parachutes. They weren't half bad. I may go pirate some of their stuff. Michelle Branch was also there. Her voice just comes off as twangy country, so I didn't really dig her and thought she played too long. Or maybe by then I was just ready for Goo to come out.
She left and there was like a 20 minute lull before the lights flickered into cool things and Johnny, Mike and Robby run onto stage and immediately jam to-- a new song? :O!!
Here Is Gone
Cuz You're Gone!
Name!
More Name!
Stay With You!
I took several videos! (as if you expected any less!) Some were just pieces because I really didn't want to use up my batteries as the ones I had in there during the preshow I thought were full and were not and used my spares sooner than I wanted to. I got bits of the second new song, Black Balloon (duh), All That You Are, Still Your Song, Better Days, Iris, and Naked. Sadly, even with the ones I wanted all of (Black Balloon and Better Days) I was just in so much :D :D :D that fumbling with my camera was distracting. And that people kept getting in my way. For the most part people were sitting on the ground or in lawn chairs but 3/4's through, people were like LET'S BE ANNOYING AND STAND IN YOUR WAY!!!
Our seats were bad, it's just my camera has crap for zoom and with the sun going down... it just made for some interesting shots.
the band was just so fun and full of energy! Johnny was in a great mood, which is great because on his Twitter he's been getting tweets like "Hey, you seemed like you were in a bad mood >(" His response: "To the person who thinks I've been in a bad mood at my shows I want to reach people w words and music not jumping around like a circus monkey I really love playing shows and I'm sorry if I'm not entertaining enough for you write me I'll give you your money back" (and no, Johnny doesn't use punctuation in his tweets). But, I think he was a in a good mood. Joking and laughing~
He pointed to the time shares next to the resort and was like "They probably aren't that happy we are here but *whispers* eff them!" Then he flubbed on 'Name' and was like "What the eff! This is sad! To screw up my own songs... eff this shiz." "We gotta be out of here by 10pm. Mike's grandfather owns that mountain. So, get the eff out!" Somehow good mood means swearing or something. IDK. But I was amused while Mom was offended XD And I don't know if it's true about Mike's G-pa owning a bit of Park City.
Then after Iris plays, they go into encore of Broadway. By then everyone is standing and dancing and mom turns to me and is like, "Krista, you should go get closer to the stage! See if you can touch him!" Um, I hiiiiighly doubt the touching, but I'll see if they'll stop me about getting closer to the stage!
The general admission seats are separated from the seated seating by a rope and Camron and I hopped it and ran down the isle and no one seemed to mind... as others got the same idea!!
SOOOOOO HAVE SOME CLOSER PICS >D OMFG. JOHNNY. Y. SO. PRETTY. AT. 45?
This would be the perfect photo... if my camera decided to FOCUS ON THE RIGHT THING!!! >( If anyone wants to be my favorite ever and try and photo correct this somehow, I'll love you forever!!
Since Camron is taller, I handed him my camera to get a better photo. Clearest photo all night and he's kinda durp.
Srsly, going up nearly ten feet away from my favorite band was amazing. I was torn between putting my camera away and just totally paying attention fully, but I wanted to capture it, but it really was a great moment for a fan like me. Specially peeking through heads and arms and seemingly catching his eye.
They were going to end with Broadway but Johnny is like "I'm not going to be mean and make you guys trick you into going back stage and making you beg for us to come back, so we are going to keep playing!" And played Naked and Give a Little Bit. Dancing and laughing with my bro ensued. Mom would have joined us, but our stuff would have been unattended.
We gathered our things and headed out and I picked up a few things at the merch booth. What you may ask? And why haven't I posted the song set? Weeeeeeell~~~~
SIGNED SONG SET! BOOYAH!!!! When I bought my shirt they had the songsets for sale after the show. They took down my name and I just had to come back for it. And I picked up a program
Filled with goodness.
The concert got let out at 9:30. Yay for an early ending concert! Not that I have work the next day like I normally would...
Anyway. I am thoroughly pleased with my experience. I sang every song (except the ones I recorded, which was hard for Black Balloon, but I don't want my horrible voice recorded like what happened with my recording of Fireflies at Owl City C_c). I'm too lazy/excited to wait for video uploading, so I'll do that tomorrow! Err, in the morning. If anyone wants them, that is. The quality isn't the greatest, so idk.
One disappointment: Notbroken was not played :( Or Big Machine (but that was expected). However, all my others were. I was very surprised that Still Your Song and Cuz You're Gone were played (and I laugh cause he went into this one saying NO ONE KNOWS IT! Psh, you can bet this Goo Girl was singing her lungs out!
I am an incredibly happy fangirl. Johnny still gets to have my music babies.
This entry was not spazzy enough to my liking. Maybe because I am so tired. I WANTED MORE CAPSLOCKING. BUT I WANTED TO WRITE IT ALL OUT WHILE IT WAS FRESH IN MY BRAIN!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH. Okay. Bed. Yes.
