A song that you can dance to

Not that I do/can dance, but this sure makes me want to. I at least have to resist urge to not snap my fingers to it:

So, we got a new DSL modem. Laptop got another virus. Used system restore and all worked fine until I tried to get on the internet and it closes the browser on its own immediately after a page loads. I ( Read more... )

Opera or I think Netscape is still around. I think you said you didn't like Safari right? I think Amaya is one of the other alternative browsers out there. I haven't tried Opera or Amaya ever.

I haven't tried Safari on a PC. I just know I hate it on my mac. Never heard of Amaya or Opera... but considering I can't even get on the internet on my laptop, I don't know how I'll be downloading a new browser DX

download it at work. save the exe file to a jump drive and take it home. though it sounds like you still have a virus so you should probably get that fixed first.

and netscape is actually dead.

I'll see if I can have fault take a look at it. My virus scan doesn't seem to be getting rid of it and more coming. But the source of the viruses originate from FF even though I often delete my cookies, cache and temp files. It's ridiculous.

It's probably a rootkit virus like I had, where it hides itself as a windows system file and thus virus scan programs won't detect it, or if they do detect it, won't delete it because it's a system file. And it also reinstalls itself with system restores. Hopefully you can get it all fixed.

Yeah, I think that's exactly what it is. Cause a "virus scan thing from windows" pops up when it attacks and I cant open any other programs and it's just evil. So have you gotten rid of yours yet?

As far as I can tell mine is gone. The second time I got it, it hid itself in a different file so I needed help removing it. Bleepingcomputer.com forums seem to be fairly good at helping. It may take a while since you'll be posting back and forth but if fault can't quite get it, they may be worth trying.
