Anime Fest 2007 Report - Text and Image heavy
Monday Night:
I briefly mentioned in my voice post at the airport that I called Vic for his birthday. I talked to him for 10 minutes or so and he was wading his way through 200 + birthday emails from the Rangers. I told him I wanted to save him the time and just call him :3 He was grateful. Found out that he ticked off the AFest people with a misunderstanding and that's why he doesn't get invited to it anymore. He basically is begging me to go to Izumicon in Oklahoma in November. He bribed me with "If you can get there, I'll pay your con admission :D" ... he really wants someone to hang out with there I guess XD I'll look into it and see if I can go.
After I hung up, I finished packing.
Tuesday:
Woke up at 5am and took my shower and got ready for the day and piled into the van and mom took me to the airport. After checking in and going through security, I made the voice post then sat down and started reading Sam's Letters to Jennifer by James Patterson, whilst listening to Janne da Arc. Got onto the plane and chatted with a couple who was coming home from an Alaka trip who were also very big Patterson fans. Chatted with them for a time and returned to my book and almost finished it on the plane, actually. That was the smoothest and friendliest plane ride I've ever been on!
Arrived to Dallas on time and met my Jen and Katie at the bag claim. Got my bags and we went to Chic Fillet for lunch (all getting nearly the same thing XD). Went to Jen's house and I plopped my stuff in my designated space and I received many shinies from my birthday/random stuff because.
Ed art, Tamaki dangly, and Bleach cards Jen got for me at Ikkicon I believe. Sonic issues were an equivalent exchange between Katie and I. The two Digimon Doujinshi's Jen and I bought together along with others from a seller from the Digimon community. I'll be scanning them when I get around to them *_* OMG they are sooooooo shiny. Slight/soft Taito, but hilarious! I wish I could read Japanese :/ I also got the winged shirt I linked to a while back. Tis in the wash now, but I shall take a picture later.
After that I believe we headed to Wal*Mart and got food for the con and stew for the next evenings dinner. Got back and we popped in Tsubasa and started to watch that. Time arose and Jen went to school for the evening. Katie and I continued to bum around the house and do whatever. I installed my meds on the compy and did 2 transcribes. Jen got home late-ish and we stayed up and talked until late-ish.
Wednesday:
Woke up fairly early considering the lack of sleep I got the previous night, but body wanted me awake. Bugged Katie until Jen woke up and we had breakfast and played some Muppet Cruise party. Had lunch, then headed to Wal*Mart again to obtain materials to aid in my scarf and belt for Silvia. With my trusty cosplay guru Katie with me, we got some stuff for cheap to make said things.
Headed over to Half Price Books for me to buy some cheap books! Got the 5th Slayers Novel, a dinky Sonic & Knuckles novelization, James Patterson's When the Wind Blows and Suzanne's Diary for Nicolas, and Brian Jacques children's book: A Winter's Tale, and Rol Dahl's Matilda and The Witches.
Stopped by Tom Thumb and obtained Code Red, for Wal*Marts Code Red was replaced by the disgusting Game Fuel. Gag!
Came back to the house and watched more Tsubasa and ate Katie's yummy stew, then Jen went to school.
Katie and I popped in Pinky and the Brain while we worked on my scarf and belt. Finished Sam's Letters to Jennifer and it was adorable!
Thursday:
SLEPT IN FINALLY!
We all got ready for the day and we went for an early lunch to the Cheesecake factory. YUUUUUUUUUUM Miso Salmon *_*
Came back and Josh departed us and the girlies popped in the Digimon Movie! Watched an episode of R.O.D. and finished Tsubasa as well. Had dinner and Jen went to school.
I busied myself and operated on Matt. I unstitched him and pulled out his old stuffing and replaced it with new and redrew his face:

I did 3 more transcribes and we headed to bed. Jen and I discussed our stories for a time until we got sleepy and went to sleep.
Friday
Got up at a decent hour and we all got ready and headed to the con. Had an adventure in parking, and a cakewalk in the pre-registration line and got our badges.

Wandered around the place and dealers room and met up with Jamie! <3 <3 <3 We squeed and hugged for quite sometime before we parted ways so I could go to the first Voice Actor panel with Greg, Monica, Quinton and Jeff. Nothing too exciting to report from that, as simular questions were asked.
So while I went to the panel, and Katie wandered, Jen and Josh loaded our luggage into our hotel room. Met up with them and dropped off our swag in our super special awesome suite!
Returned to the con activities and found Dusky:
Wandered back into the Dealers room and witnessed a corset assembly:
After that, I went up to the room and burnt my finger in making some Cup O' Noodles and got ready for the Goo Goo Dolls Concert.
Jen took me to the Schimroff Center and dropped me off in plenty of time. I took my seat and started to read When the Wind Blows until the concert started and part way through the opening act. I don't remember the opening band's name, but they were okay-ish.
Lifehouse came on later. Their performance was cool. I liked it enough to be convienced to buy their new album. With the sound system, his voice, and not knowing their songs hardly at all... I could only hear the sound of the instruments, but still good ^^ Lifehouse ended their performance at 8:30 or so, and Goo Goo Dolls didn't come until 9. My patients pretty much died that night. I came to see GGD and I didn't get to see them until 2 hours after the concert time :P
BUT! It was all worth it, OMG. That concert has to be the most amazing thing I have ever participated/witnessed. Just very powerful and, to borrow Ali's term, EPIC! The whole time I felt moved by the music and... argh it was so AMAZING~ They are amazing live. I'm going to make it a point to see them again.
Slight disappointment is that they added 2 members to the band for the concert and they "rockified" their songs more. Some it worked nicely with, other's not so much. The performance made me attracted to Johnny Reznik physically and not just his voice. He's pretty much hot.
They sung (In order of performance): Long Way Down, Slide, Feel the Silence, BLACK BALLOON (They threw out black balloons whilst singing), January Friend, Tucked Away, Cuz You're Gone, Become, All Eyes On Me, Name, Before It's Too Late, Stay With You, Let Love In, Accoustic #3, and Iris. Then they came back and did an encore of Broadway and American Girl.
I was impressed and happy. Sad I was by myself, but it was worth it to ditch the con. I didn't want to pass up that opportunity and get held back from going to it, no matter what! Thanks for taking and picking me up, Jen :3
Got back from the concert and headed to Jamie's room for a game of Apples to Apples and cracktastic times. We all were pretty tired, so around 1am or so, we called it a night and went to bed.
Saturday:
Woke up fairly early, cause my body wouldn't let me sleep. Got up and joined Katie downstairs to get some breakfast. Came back to the room and got ready and put on my Silvia cosplay. Ventured out again with Katie and walked around in cosplay for the day.
I went to a panel alone once more and sat through Monica and Scott's panel.
Manly Pocky!
Spotted Katie after the panel and we wandered for a time and ran into the incredibly awesome Jet!
After wandering the artist ally, Katie ran off for another photoshoot or something and I went to the Q&A with Q&J Part 1.
Didn't get the significance of the duck, but it was amusing.
Quinton and Jeff sung a song about yaoi and how they aren't gay. My seat wasn't the best and my camera didn't like the lighting in that room... Flash washed them out and gave them red-eye, and this made it blurry. (I noticed that Quinton has earrings in going through my pictures O_O)
The panel was awesome. Got annoyed at the Axel fangirls and wanting the "Got it Memorized?" line, but it was nice to see he was tired of saying it, cause I was sure tired of hearing it. Both sound really excited about Digimon Savers dub, and I am too! OMG October 1st! SQUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEE!
After the panel, went to the Real Life Panel (which was pretty dead and empty, but amusing,) and grabbed some nachos for lunch with Jen and Josh and we ate.
The rest of the day is sorta a blur between getting figures and stuff in the dealers room and gifts fro Brin, and having Katie take a pic of me in my revamped Silvia cosplay and taking this pic of the awesome PoT cosplayers:
GAMBIT!
After snacking on some dinner-ish things, and changing out of Silvia, Katie and I went to Amiel's Instant Character Panel with Scott McNiel. Bascially the audience would shout out a characteristic and she'd draw it, and Scott would give the voice to it.
After that, Jamie and Robert came over and we finished watching World's Best Commercial's, and then played Pirates of the Carribbean Life. They left after Jen and Josh announced they were going to go to the Dance, and Katie was going to go to a Photoshoot.
I went with Katie to her Sakura photoshoot and met up with a Fai and glomped her, and made friends with Wrath-Chu, another Ranger, and chatted for a time. I hope those pics that the photographer took of Sakura and Fai came out, cause I have much art planned with some of those >D (OMG, how did Vic's arms fit in that coat? O_o)
Escourted Katie back to the room and left to join Jamie and crew in their room. Didn't do anything specific, but talk about various things and be dorks and doodle in each other's skecthbooks. Dusky and I are now lovers. Bwuahahahahah. I really do appreciate that you guys are concious about swearing around.... ilu guys long time.
Called it a night and came back to the room and Katie, Jen and I got on the subject of Fai being a pimp XD
Sunday
Rolled out of bed and got breakfast and wandered the place until I met up with Jamie and Robert as everyone else was still sleeping or doing something else. We went to Amiel's Drawing Proportions panel and that was a lot of fun.
After that, I think we wandered the Dealer's room and met up with Jen and Josh and had lunch, then went on over to the Q&A with Q&J Part 2. Was amused beyond belief and much giggles and fanspazzing was had. So glad I wasn't alone in that panel T^T.

Parted ways with Jamie for a time, and hurray I finally had Jen time! We went to the Dealers room and wandered and I got a DNAngel purse! Score! Stopped by the Real Life Booth, and got Greg's signature!
They were so incredibly awesome!
He was so hot. It wasn't just the fact he was cosplaying Renji, he was a HAWT Renji, and had the perfect physicality for it!
Stopped by Herms' booth and commissioned him to draw Matt for me. SO CUTE!:
While Jen and I waited for him to finish, we found ourselves in a viewing room with a show about a Mermaid Mafia. I didn't have my glasses, so I couldn't read what was going on, but boy was it crack XD
Jen and I WERE going to get in line for signatures, but they CAPPED OFF THE LINE 45 minutes before the time even started. They said the VAs only have an hour to get through everybody, so we couldn't get our sigs. I was upset.
Went back up to the room for a time, got bored cause didn't sound like there were any plans, so I left to go be with Jamie and Robert. Talked about various things in life and laughed at dorkiness and such.

Stole some of their food and made them come to the room with me and we chatted and ate munchies until they had to go to their Phoenix Wright PJ party.
After they left, Katie, Jen and I watched DIGIMON EPISODES! It was awesome. And I started on the Pimp Fai idea XD
Went to bed on the later side.
Monday:
Woke up and got dressed to go find some breakfast, only to find they weren't serving breakfast -_- *stomach eats self* Found Katie in my quest for food, and I followed her to her small photoshoot and watched our stuff and called my dad to wish him a happy birthday.
After that, I went to the second Instant Character Panel and took pictures this time!:
Vash was at the panel, and that is the best Vash I've EVER seen! *_*
After that panel, I headed down to the line where the autographs would be, and Katie went to go find what was going on with hotel check-out. I sat in line and made a line buddy named Morgan. She was cool. The line got moving, and I got through it in a barable time (mostly cause I think the security were nazi's.)
Got to Quinton's table, and it was awesome to see his face light up with signing something OTHER than Reno or Axel.
His signature is oh so shiny *_*
PICTURE OF D00M! Quinton is very easibly huggable. He's so squishy compared to Vic. His hug didn't feel like he'd break me in two if he hugged me >.< He hugged me for quite sometime, as the first pic turned out blurry and Katie took another one... which I couldn't complain ^^ He smelled good too!
Came to Jeff's table and had him sign my Digimon Movie! He was happy to sign something other than Wolfwood.
I gave him a hug too, for Jeff needs more hugs *nods* We spazzed about Savers and I move on to Scott.
Scott is just always such a happy guy. You see him, and you just smile, and he smiles back. I already had his signature in my Gundam Wing artbook, but I had him sign my sketchbook:
After the signatures, Katie and I went back upstairs to check out of our hotel. Called Jamie, only to find that she had already left T^T *emos*
Hotel of awesome!
We left the hotel about 2:30 I believe and we came home and had some lunch and took some power naps. After talking with the Fai, we had to read the recent chapter of Tsubasa. Katie and I downloaded it and squealed! OMG EPIC!!!!!!!
Goofed off on the internet, munched, and watched Pinky and the Brain. Went to Taco Bell for a late dinner, came back and I packed.
Today: Woke up at 7 and snoozed until 8 and got ready to leave for the airport. Drove in mostly silence and Jen dropped me off. We hugged and said good-bye. I miss her already.
I'll have to see if I can make it to Izumicon. It's November 2-4th, and I'd only go if the ticket price is decent and Jen is able to go so I can save on Hotel, and hope that we can have an awesome time together.... for Vic is whining to spend time with me XD

Overall, the con was pretty much awesome. The set up was nice and comfortable. Now I must scrounge for money to force payback upon Josh.
Quinton is t3h smex. His voice is one of those voices that I can listen too for hours and never tire of it.
Goo Goo Dolls was so amazing! I also got a poster and keychain at the concert. I want to go to another one of their concerts badly!
