Today is today

I emailed Vic this morning telling him the Utah Rangers got home safe, and I sent him the pictures he requested ^^ I just remembered something else at Idaho, Steven Blum has been lending Vic Cowboy Bepop! Score, Vic's watching the Bepop, it's awesome. In the email I praised him for the last episode, just cause I like to and he deserves it. I decided that that dream I had a while back was a preview for Anime Oasis @_@.

I had the worst cramps this morning, and it sucked. I'm glad I didn't have to deal with it at the con, though I felt it coming and I was paranoid the whole time, but I didn't start until the ride home so everything is OK!

I'm not coming to work tomorrow because I'm kidnapping tibek and we are going to hang out, and it will be awesome. Not sure all of what we'll do, but we'll think of something, dangit. Tibs, I'm gunna get yeah around 10am, so be ready rawr!

Today is Matt and Shar's Annevarsary, and I'm sad I couldn't get my pic done today. I started it last night and worked on it this morning, but it's not finished. The lineart is ready, just needs to be colored, so I hope to have that up either tonight or tomorrow. I'm such a terrible author, it will be late art! no ways!

Okay, since I am completely bored and staff is empty, time to do some

I finished Orphen: Revenge this morning and it was pretty good. I was actually surprised in the direction it went, considering it was total crack until episode 18 or so.

Story
For a while the story was pretty simple, like most fantasy/adventure/magical series' are. You are slightly reintroduced to the cast from the first series, and a new character is brought up and she really annoys me to no end... pretty much all the new characters irked me somewhat XD. Anyway, the plot, twas cool, and then went completely strange towards the end, and the series I think ended better than most I've seen lately. At least I didn't have to look at Azalie butt naked for three episodes =_=;

Characters
-Orphen is still Sexy.
-Cleao still kicks butt and I want to cosplay her now cause she has several outfits for me to choose from.
-Majic for some reason has become a whimp, and has become a bit feminine, which is strange cause he's still a womanizer and has an admirer from the Tower of Fang.
-Bolken & Dortin, they just need to die. 10 times more annoying in this than the original. Served no purpose whatsoever.
-Hartia/Black Tiger much LOVE! Hartia gets so much more love in the series... er, just the comic relief.
-Lai is voiced by Vic, so of course I love him. He has more or a part and he's not so portrayed as a villian, which he really wasn't in the original, but boy is he smexy.

-Aris is so fun. She's Majic's girlfriend and Hartia's sidekick, White Club.
-Esperonza I don't know, I don't like her but I don't hate her, but I don't love her either. She's a THERE character. She played the piano in random places and it was never explained why she magically had a piano whenever she appeared. :P oh well.
-Licorice, I didn't think a character could be so annoying to look at and listen to. I love Luci Christian, except when she does these high-pitched innocent characters, oh it bothers me something awful.
-Euraleka was a very stupid obnoxious little girl villian
-Flame Soul was a filler villian that was bent on revenge voiced by a very femmy Chris Patton and he scared the crap outta me.

Art
Like the Original, it had it's good and bad days, though the original it was a but more pleasant to look at. The last few were pretty in the second series, unlike the first that totally fell. The openings were pretty and fun as well.

I'd recommend it to fans of the original, or even if you haven't. Not too much of the first series is mentioned, so it's not like you'd be confused if one viewed it. If you get the chance, watch it, yo.

Peacemaker

-Story
Peacemaker is a bit like Rurouni Kenshin if you want to compare it to something. There's Samurai's and the same groups during the Revolution running around, but the roles are switched. In Kenshin the Shinsengumi are the bad guys, in Peacemaker they are the good guys. So it's neat to see that difference. But anyway, main boy Tatsu wants to be in the Shinsengumi to avenge his parents and to prevent the same thing to happen to other children. He joins up as a paige because he's too young and Master Hijikata doesn't want to stain his hands with blood. The series follows Tatsu and his journey to growing up, and shows a lot of the hardships he faces.

-Characters
All the characters I loved, except the bad guys, which is how it's supposed to be, right?
-Tatsu is an adorable character that reminds me of Ed cause he's 15, but appears to be younger than that because of size. Luci rocks playing little boys, oh yes
-Tetsu is the over-bearing big brother that overreacts and is just hilarious. Being voiced by Vic is awesome.
-Soji scared me a bit at first cause he seems like a 'special spirit', and it creeped me out, but he's just femmy, and a lot of fun... after he grew on me.
-Hijikata is bad 'A', and is freaking hilarious in episode 15.
-Saito is awesome, though not as awesome as his Kenshin entity.
-Shinpachi is voiced by Greg Ayres so you know he's cool.
-Sano is Shinpachi's friend voice by Jason Douglas and it rocks.
-Aiyu was the only female character worth mentioning, and she was cool.
-Suzumu is Chris Patton with an 'osaka' accent, and he's hot, though the accent really needs to go.

Yeah, all the female characters got stuck with the 'Osaka' accent. If Vic had to do an accent, I think I would have died.

Art
Peacemaker was very pretty. It had a nice mix of CGI and animation. The complex angle shots, swords, and blood were CGed, and I think that was really cool. The character designs were very pleasant, and the facial features were nice, sort of reminded me of FMA, but not as defined.

Music
I liked the music. There were a few songs I loved, and others that were just weird and didn't seem to fit. The opening kind of scares me, and the closing gets stuck in my head....*sings*YOU GOT TO FIGHT FOR YOUR MONEY HOW YOU FEELING JIMMY!

Overall, I recommend it for fans of Japanese culture/history. People that like dark anime as well. I really enjoyed it personally. I very much consider buying it in a boxset, but I'll be deprived of the commentaries T_T
