History:
Fang grew up in a small village called Oerba, located near Alexandria in Deningrad. The community was tight-knit - people didn't even have individual houses, instead all living together. When war broke out, Fang's family was one of the many that were torn apart, and she ended up living in the village's orphanage. At first they thought she was like any other child; it was by accident that they discovered her enhanced abilities. One of the adults, recognizing that Fang's combination of skills made her an ideal close-quarters fighter, began to train her, which Fang took to eagerly.

She quickly volunteered to join the ranks of fighters, deciding that she could do a better job of protecting herself and her friends than what the army was accomplishing. But Oerba was losing the war, and Fang, along with her best friend, was chosen to carry out a desperate mission. They were given the power to transform into a beast that would ravage the enemy, thus winning the war through sheer annihilation. When her friend backed out, Fang stood firm, hoping to spare her friend and protect her people. But alone she was weakened, and the enemy managed to defeat her; though she had caused a lot of damage, it was not enough to win the war.

The trauma of her injuries and the transformation itself (for it is not a natural gift) made Fang lose her memories of the incident. She remembers everything up until the moment she was chosen for the task, and then nothing until she woke up just in time to learn that her friend was leaving the almost ruined village. It didn't take long for Fang to decide that she would accompany her friend, rather than leave her to fend for herself. Soon after they left, Fang got a large tattoo on her left arm. Her brand, its color changed from the transformation, was clearly visible on her right arm. She hoped that the new tattoo would help disguise the true meaning of the brand.

And then they simply wandered until they found Estrasia. Or more accurately, Fang likes to joke, it found them.

Previously on super_powers: Thanks to Namine's efforts, Fang was able to recover a single piece of her memory: the name "Ragnarok". This lead to a confrontation with Vanille which revealed her deception, but after a tense stand-off they were able to reconcile. Between random attacks by hostile creatures, the looming threat of the Darkness, and the island itself falling, Fang's started to consider protecting the school part of her responsibility.

And Fang's always taken her responsibilities seriously. This is a special case, however, considering the strong ties Fang feels with the community - her new home. With her renewed partnership with Vanille, Fang is ready for even the worst case scenario, as shown in one of their promises: "Whatever we have to... no matter what."

Personality:
(Note: I'm reusing the personality section I wrote for reims academy rather than my previous super_powers app. If this isn't acceptable, please let me know. It more accurately reflects Fang after the character development from the earlier events of s_p.)

To quote Vanille from the light novel: "Fang doesn't fight because she is strong, though she is quite strong. She fights because she is kind. She can never forgive those who hurt the people she loves." While this doesn't sum up Fang completely, it definitely highlights several important pieces of her personality. First off, Fang is strong. She's confident, proud, and independent. She knows what she wants and has no problem going after it, even if she has to do it alone. And if you don't like her, she's not going to lose any sleep over it. She returns the favor, often being very straight forward and candid. You'll always know where you stand with her: if she doesn't like you, she sees no reason to dance diplomatic around it. Of course, this strength also gets her into trouble sometimes: she can be exceedingly stubborn or suffer from tunnel-vision. It's the latter that she really has to look out for - coupled with her tendency to favor action over talking or waiting, she can really cause problems for herself or those around her.

All of that probably makes her sound like some stern, aloof person, when she's actually the complete opposite. In most situations, Fang's easygoing and casual, with a tendency to tease or flirt. It's that confidence showing through again - Fang has a devil-may-care attitude towards life, because if she gets into trouble she can get herself right back out again. It's also simply that she has nothing to prove to anyone, and that lifts a lot of restraints that might otherwise hold someone back. And despite her preference for action, she's not opposed to going slowly at times, because Fang's not the type to forget that life is fun. In fact, she'll scold those she finds too stoic or serious, though you'll also find her reining back those who are being a little too carefree.

And that's part of the kindness: Fang's a very compassionate person and a fiercely protective friend. She won't make excuses for people, but she'll drop everything or put aside her own feelings if someone needs her. This is where the tunnel vision can really affect her, as Fang can make some very stupid decisions if she feels it's necessary to protect her friends. As long as someone is well-intentioned and trying his best, Fang's willing to cut him a little slack. But this is one place where Fang doesn't reciprocate: while she can be open about her feelings, Fang's unlikely to confide in people if the only purpose would be to seek comfort or to vent her emotions. Fang handles herself.

Again, Fang's tough. Even though she is kind, don't think you can take advantage of her. In canon, when put into a support role Fang says everything from the encouraging "don't sweat it!" to the stern "show some spine!" to the irritated "I gotta do everything?" As easygoing as Fang usually is, she won't let you get away with just anything. It's hard to draw a clear line between what Fang will tolerate and what she won't, as it varies between both people and situation. Fang's elemental specialties in canon are water and air, and she can be much like those mutable, unpredictable elements. Still, if you need an ally to depend on, Fang is at the top of the list.
