My sister and I were in the garden area of our apartment. We encountered an entity called Planet. She was on a bridge, and not very happy. She warned us that a war was coming and that we should pick our sides carefully. I didn't trust her, at all.
There was a security terminal in the garden, and something was amiss. After examining it, we went upstairs to our rooms. I tried to convince her that siding with planet would probably be a bad idea. I was in my room with my computer. I think I was talking to Chris online or through some other means. I went to the bathroom, came back, and the front end of my chassis was gone (it was detachable). I started panicking and saw it through the window. It was in the garden in a thorn bush. I called my sister and we started to head down the stairs. My vision disappeared -- blind. As this happened, something unseen and unfelt pushed me over the stairs. I finally reached the bottom -- top of my head first. Needless to say, my neck snapped and I died.
My sister continued onto the garden, visibly scared. I watched her through the security monitor. She did a quick check on the monitor down there, saw no danger, and continued toward my computer. Planet was there. She congratulated my sister on not changing sides, despite my urgings. She would be rewarded with power and become her avatar. After a brief run-through of her new powers and responsibilities, I reminded my sister of my computer. She went over to the area and got it. I hugged her, and suddenly Chris appeared in the garden. I didn't want to leave, but I knew I had to. I said some parting words to him, crying, and then to my friend Sean when he appeared too (who was almost oblivious to the fact that I was now somewhat less than corporeal). I attempted to let go... but something was stopping me. I knew I couldn't leave. This upset me greatly and scared me too.
We went back inside, this time to the first floor apartments. I started discussing with Chris what could be holding me back. Unfinished business. I told him I'd come see him and be with him if I still could by night fall. Then I noticed a single doorway with a light under it. That's where I had to go... I said goodbye, and walked through the door.
