My friend
B has a goal of reading 30 books in a year. I am always so impressed by the width and breadth of what she reads. Her list plus my book club has really heightened my desire to read a wide variety of books this year. Instead of counting pages (which is hard to do on the Kindle) or setting a goal, I thought I would just ask for some recommendations of books from my friends and then compile a list of books to attempt to read in the next 11.5 months.
So, folks, what do you recommend? Below is what is already on my list:
- Phantoms of the Brain by V.S. Ramachandran (recommended by Lars)
- Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson (recommended by Amazon)
- Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout (recommended by my mother-in-law)
- The Story of Edward Sawtelle by David Wroblewski (recommended by my mother-in-law)
- Handle with Care by Jodi Piccoult (recommended by Mom)
- Change of Heart by Jodi Piccoult (Book Club pick)
- Kite Runner by Khaled Housseini (Book club recommendation)
- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (recommended by Blythe)
