Okay, so my return to LiveJournal didn't take off quite with the momentum I'd planned. I just don't know where my time goes. I looked at my e-mail today and realized that two months had passed since I'd received an e-mail from a very good friend and that I still hadn't responded. I'm sure she is cross, but the time... it just sprints in epic

That is interesting... It is just such a different approach, or maybe a more old fashioned one? There was a time, not long ago, really, that the western world kept mum on such subjects as well.

In regards to the law, I thing the law criminalizing "shota" or artistic representations of under-age children in sexual situations is a bad one. For all of the reasons you listed and for the more simple one: no actual children are harmed or even INVOLVED in the making of such art/pornography. Censoring art, in any form, is wrong. (I suppose "any" form is a stretch, since one can't make pornographic photos of children without involving children) but you know what I mean, and I think we're on the same page with that. I don't want to read it, and I don't find it sexy, anything but; we accidentally ended up with a non-con Sanzo/very young Goku doujinshi that came in a mystery bundle from Japan (you know how it can be) and got rid of is asap, but not before I saw it. It broke my brain. I had nightmares... it may even have contributed to my resistance to accepting a Sanzo/Goku ship!!.
