Has anyone read Absolute Boyfriend? If so:
How many volumes are there?
Is the series finished?
Does it continue to ramble on, or does it every go anywhere?

Has anyone read Blank Slate (someone on LJ recced it, but I can't remember who!)
Does it ever become easy to understand?

Thanks, experts!!

I read Absolute Boyfriend. 6 volumes, I believe. It does eventually go somewhere, and it's pretty darned cutesy.

I'm embarrassed to admit I'm kind of enjoying it so far (I've read the first two volumes). the main character's mother is younger than I am. *hides head in shame* Oh well. At least I'm not reading (or watching) Twilight.

Lol, it's ok. Everyone has their guilty pleasures. Also, I have to admit, I read the first Twilight book. I decided I had to give it the same fair chance I'd give any fanfiction, and the first chapter was readable.

Hee. I couldn't get through the first chapter. I thought the writing was horrible!! (But I am usually veeeery fussy about my fiction!)

I'm more fussy about grammar than content, so I was able to deal with it. The preview for the second book, however, made me gag. It was so full of stupid, I had no words. I stand by my initial opinion, however: Twilight is a trashy romance novel that doesn't even have the good grace to include the porn.

I don't think it is very liberating for young women either. From what I've heard and read about how the books carry on, it is (like the author) a bit latter day saint in message and tone. It does not encourage women to lead their lives independent of the men in them.

Yeah, I've heard that, too. Also, the creepiness that is Edward. Ew. WORLDS of ew.
