COX CABLE IS THE DEVIL

So, when I moved into this apartment, I found out they had been charging me for a box I don't have and never had, for two years. When I got digital cable in 2008 I had them run it through the Tivo, so no box required. Anyway, when the guy showed up here when I moved, he was looking for the non-existent box that was on my paperwork. We called many, many people. My parents helped... I thought it was straightened out.

Called and added HBO today (just ten bucks for the first three months!). Lady said "Okay, now it's on there!" No it wasn't.

Called cox tech support. "Hmmm..." he says, pondering.
"Um," I say. "My records don't show I have a box do they?"
"Yes. You can't get premium cable without a card or a box."
"Oh. I don't have a box."
"Yes you do."
"I don't"
"It says you do."
"I don't." (explains history)
"You've been paying for this box since 2008."
"Oh. I see."
(Don't say it. I know I should pay more attention to the itemization on my bills. I know this. This isn't how my daddy raised me).

Long story short (too late). No HBO. Not for a while. got to make sure this fictional box is removed before I can have it installed, you see. They tried to give me a line about being charged a fee to get cable through the Tivo, but when I mentioned that it wasnt' working the way a "box" worked to give me HBO, he dropped that tactic. Holy fuck. If things work out, mind you, I should have a sizable credit. But things aren't going to work out. They never do with Cox-sucker Communications. There simply isn't another option in town. *shoots self*

Oh, by the way - three hours I was on the phone with those mfs.
