Did 3 things of note today:
1) New network layout. My PC now goes through 2 routers/hubs to reach the megaweb. Aside from the simple reason that another router allows for more flashing lights (superficial, I know) it now means I can easily add the PS2 to the network. Before the hub was upstairs in the loft, and while a cable for my PC runs under the floor, adding another for the console is too much effort. The PS2 has very little customisation for networking (you can't change the gateway) and so getting it on was effort (usually involving me disconnecting from the network, changing my settings and connecting directly - it didn't like 2 connections at once). Now my PC and the PS2 go into one hub, and that goes to the main hub. It worked first time (pre-setup aside), which surprised me. More lights!
2) Set up my triple displays again. For some reason though, the Voodoo Banshee I use for the 3rd output won't work in any PCI slot other than the 1st (any other freezes the system when I enable the display). This wouldn't be an issue if that slot didn't have it right against the fan of the Geforce6. The Banshee also runs far hotter than I remember it, so its asking for trouble at that range. I managed to get it working sanely before the summer, just need to remember what I did. ^^;;;
3) I built the
R-GUN Powered kit. Yay. ^_^
Somehow I've managed to bruise my right leg over the past few days. Hurts to touch or use too much. Not sure what I've done to it ;.;
