Monday Minis: Spring Cleaning (Double Drabble, Rated K)
Spring Cleaning
"Cameron!"
"You bellowed?" Cameron stood in the doorway.
House waved a hand around the room. "What is this?"
She rolled her eyes. "What does it look like? It's spring cleaning. And I suggest, if you want to get any sleep tonight in your bed, that you go through your clothes and either put them away or toss them. Or donate them, if they're not rags."
House thumped his cane on the floor. "I'm not spending the day doing this. I can sleep on the couch."
"Without me, you mean?" Cameron arched an eyebrow.
"Fine." He stared at the pile. "Why did you start this, anyway?"
"I'm so glad you asked that."
He winced.
"We are spring cleaning because sharp2799 is in the middle of doing it in her house and she found out what it would cost to replace the Champagne glass we broke. This is our punishment."
"Oh come on, how much would it cost to replace one?"
"Apparently all the ones on the market now don't match the one that's left. So she'd need to buy two. She left the bill." Cameron pulled a slip of paper from her jeans pocket and held it out.
Their eyes met as they were reminded of another time she did something similar.
This time, he made no move to take it. "I'm not paying that."
Cameron stuffed the bill back in her pocket. "She didn't think you would, which is why we are doing spring cleaning." She glared and he wilted.
"All right," he muttered. "Get me a garbage bag and some hangers."
Note: I really am not pleased to discover that a pair of Champagne glasses will cost me around $10 now. They have a lot to answer for!
