“Hmf?”
“House, it sounded like a gunshot!” She listened in the silence, her arm outstretched to grab the phone and call 911.
House pulled her back down to lie next to him. “Relax,” he yawned. “It’s just Wilson.”
“Wilson has a gun?”
House snickered. “Wilson has hard toenails. You just heard him clip one off.”
Cameron narrowed her eyes. “You can’t be seri-” And there it was again, that loud snap that made her flinch. She turned to him, her eyes wide. “How much longer is this going to go on?”
“I don’t know. How many did you hear?”
House was nearly asleep when she eventually murmured, “That wasn’t what I meant.”
