I invite you all to my
MySpace page to listen to a sweet cover I made of a sweet tune. It's the last one on the list, called "Misty Frequencies". I did this for my music tech class; I sequenced the backtrack in Reason, and recorded the vocals in Logic with help from my tech-savvy roommate Martin. All in all, I think it's pretty sweet, for having no real instruments in it except for my voice :)
And, I am in fact auditioning for the
jazz vocal group that I subbed for and was talking about auditioning for in my last entry. I'm going on Wednesday... I'm a little nervous, and a little excited! It will be an experience, to say the least.
Speaking of experiences, have you ever been
caroling with fifty people? Because, I have. And it was AMAZING. We seriously walked, as a mob, down residential streets in Jamaica Plain (a neighborhood in Boston) and rang doorbells, and whoever answered got a massive Christmas carol street performance! It was seriously one of the most amazing things I've ever done... we went into a grocery store and sang carols to the produce; some of the shoppers tried to ignore us, it was hilarious watching them. There were so many people who were just thrilled when we came to their doors... I mean... if ever there was an occasion to make mention of the Christmas Spirit, this would have been the time. It was wonderful!
I'm back in Edmonton in... five days!
