I felt like writing lists.
This is probably more for my benefit than for yours, but what the hell. I haven't posted in forever, so I might as well do it here.
Things I Want To Do:
- Stay in Boston beyond September.
- Write an album within a year, record it within two.
- Move to Cambridge, Somerville, or Jamaica Plain with one or two other roommates.
- Pay my bills.
- Play more gigs.
- Record more; either my own stuff or other people's.
- Not flip my $#1% when I go speak to the immigration lawyer on Wednesday.
- Not freak out if/when I have to leave jobs with steady paycheques for better musical opportunities.
Things I Want To Do Failing Item Number 1:
- Go play on the cruise ships and earn some dollaz.
- Write an album within a year, record it within two.
- Pay my bills.
- Play more gigs.
- Record more; either my own stuff or other people's.
- Not freak out about money yet.
- Take musical opportunities when they are available, and not worry about what they pay.
Things I Do Not Want To Do:
- Move back to Edmonton - yet. It's a possibility in the future, but I don't want it to be a fall-back move right now.
- Not pay my bills.
- Continue playing a very low number of gigs.
- Give up on things because I didn't get a new US work visa.
- Teach beginning piano students.
Things I Could Possibly Do A Couple Years Down The Road In Life:
- Go to grad school for piano. Continue to perform and write.
- Go to grad school for composition. Continue to perform and write.
- Go to grad school for education. Teach piano at the college level.
- Go to grad school for education. Develop a course on chart-writing and pitch it to Berklee (or other contemporary music school) because nobody knows how to write lead sheets that are legible.
- Not go to grad school. Continue to perform and write.
Who knows? I sure don't.
