The school, it has ended.

Today, I had my last events of Berklee-related things for the semester! Although the week began with a bit of a shaky start, it ended wonderfully. I aced (read: fluked) my proficiency (which for GMac kids is like a scale jury and rep jury all rolled into one, and for non GMac kids, it's your final playing test), did well on my written exams, got all my papers finished to an acceptable level, conducted the hell out of Stravinsky (Petrushka is my bitch!) and sang brilliantly with the vocal jazz group. I was so happy with that; as soon as we were all on mics and could balance that way, everything just became so much easier. It sucks when you can't rehearse vocal jazz on mics, especially when we only had one bass singer to speak of.

I am so torn about going home. I'm going to miss the hell out of my Boston friends, especially the kids at Franklin-Stein (a.k.a. my house, a.k.a. "Hippie House"). But, I really want to go home and see my Edmonton friends, and family... I don't really feel like either is my home, but I feel like they both are. It's so strange. I don't even know. One thing I will certainly miss is the spontaneous cookie baking. We made cookies for Pete tonight; he has been having a rough few weeks computer-wise. First his hard drive crashed, taking with it all of his final projects, and then when he went to save a re-do of one of the projects today, it spontaneously erased everything he had. Cookies were definitely in order, and I must say, I made a hell of a batch of cookies. Such fluffy cookie dough was never had! Anyways. I'm pretty much just LJ-ing to waste time before Martin gets home from Tosci's, at which point we will be getting drunk for the last time until the fall. This is crazy talking!!!

I have to clean up and pack tomorrow. Not looking forward to that. No sirree. Anyways... that's all I got.

berklee, gigs, rambles, singing
