So sorry for the multitude of posts. But I have pictures I must share!!!!
This CD finally came in the mail today! It is the new Cat Empire album, "Cities". I am listening to it right now... it sounds really great. I am always at such a loss to describe the sound of this band, because they sound like everything, and yet like nothing you've ever heard before. This album sounds a little grittier and dirtier than two shoes... I like it! (And look, they have their own little postmark... isn't that precious!)
This is our family Wurlitzer, courtesy of Martin. It belonged to his uncle, and had been sitting under a bunch of stuff in his basement for like... a long time... he gave it to Martin, and Martin cleaned it up and brought it up from Rhode Island. And now, I play it all the time. Someone needs to give the little Wurli some love. Now all I have to do is convince him to bring up his suitcase-Rhodes, and I'll be set for life :)
That is also our family drum set. That little guy can hold his own, I tell you!
This is my room. I put some posters in it that I got from Mark, the liquor store dude at Britannia, and from that giant poster-calendar that Mom had of the rocky mountains. My walls look marginally less shitty, which is nice! However, the ridiculous thing is this. There are two colours of paint in my room (one is poo-brown, and the other is kind of washed-out-wannabe-plaster-yellow). The posters stayed up just fine on the light paint, and on the dark paint, they all fell down within half a day of me putting them up. I used the same kind of tape, I used the same force to apply the adhesive... I don't get it. Not ONE that I put on the light paint has fallen, and not ONE that I put on the dark paint has stayed up. I got some thumbtacks to try to keep them on the dark walls, but I have to hammer them in, and I don't really trust my co-ordination to not smash my fingers. I think I might try washing the walls, or using a different kind of tape first. But... I am lazy... so my dark walls are still blank. Who knows if the posters will ever go up!
These are just some goofy ones. The first is Kael rocking out to Three Dog Night in his toque and oven mitt, and the second is Josh, me and Santi as we went to Cambridge one day before the winter break. Well, actually it's not us, it's our shadows. I like it!
I invite you to check out the rest of the pictures I uploaded
here. Actually... I think there's only one in that link that I didn't post in this entry... but oh well. Go for it anyways.
I had my first Art History class today; I seriously never thought that cave paintings could be so enthralling! I am actually SO excited to go back to that class, you have no idea.
Anyways, that's all I got. See you laterz!
