Story behind finding Wil Wheaton's blog
So I was sitting on the couch with my laptop resting on my knees and my feet propped up on the coffee table covered with a pink blankie keeping them warm when I get bored (I'm still sitting like that). My roommate Karen is a mirror image next to me(she's still there too).
So I'm bored. I type "interesting websites" into Google. I get this guys website (Nick someone) and he has a few links that look cool. One of them is Wil's site. It's an audio blog where it sounds like he saves entries on his phone and puts them on the internet. Anyway, I listen to a few. I listen to the most recent ones where he's a player at the World Poker Tour Invitational. He's mentioned he's an actor and since he's playing at the WPT Invitational I figure he's attained some sort of celebrity-dom. So I search google. I search "World Poker Tour Invitational table 1 seat 1". The very first entry look promising. I click on it. It turns out to be another blog. As I'm reading it becomes obvious that this guy is a friend of Wil's and was with him at the WPT Invitational. It's there that I find out that his name is Wil.
So, ok, I search google again. I search for "World Poker Tour Invitational table 1 seat 1 Wil." Halfway down the page I see something that looks promising. I click on it and it turn out to be yet another blog. The blog belongs to Wil Wheaton. The first picture you see is the ticket from the WPT Invitational with "Table 1 Seat 1" printed on it. So I say to myself, "Ah ha! His name is Wil Wheaton." So then my investigation takes me to www.imdb.com the International Movie Data Base. I search his name and chaos and freakin' out ensues. Here's the picture: Me screaming "Oh my god" over and over while waving my arms in the air.
The internet is just a marvel. I stumble onto a celebrity's blog all from a simple search as "interesting websites." And it's not just any celeb. It's a guy who I've watched and had the biggest crush on. He's still really hot.
