Don't know why it took me so long to catch on - I finally began putting our foodwastes in the yardwaste containers instead of the garbage.
I've been wanting to compost for ages, but TS is opposed to compost. We have a lot of wildlife and don't want to attract the wrong crowd, if you get my gist.
Our lot has no top soil - heinous, rocky fill from the 1950s subdivision, dry silty rocky dirt. Compost would be the cheapest way to ameliorate it. Maybe I will have my way with this.
In the meantime, I'm putting all vegetable wastes, tea bags, and coffee grounds in the yardwaste container. Our garbage can only really gets full about once a month, because we recycle everything and now the foodwaste is limited to meat scraps.
