Scary noises at night
So, every night that I am home alone between about 7:30 and 9:20 when C gets home from work, this house makes a lot of noises. Creaking boards in the floors, settling sounds in the walls, and other random noises for which there is no identifiable cause. And it's not just noise. There are unaccounted-for drafts and I often see things out of the corner of my eye... and the neighbors' dog barks a lot at the fence between their yard and my house.
It's pretty consistent - and now that it gets dark earlier, it still starts at the same time. And it is every single night.
Am I just being self-psyched out, or is there something else here besides me?
Generally, I am able to immerse myself in a task and forget it, but sometimes it really bothers me. Tonight I am just blaring really loud music and trying hard not to hear anything.
[cue ghost noises...]
